Cancellation Fee

So I have repeatedly called and told LA Fitness to cancel my account, I even went as far as cancelling my card so they couldn't access my money through my debit card.

To make a long story short I just got off the phone with a chick that said that LA Fitness was going to continue to charge my account until I pay in full and then I can cancel.

So in order to cancel, I have to pay in full... or they will continue to charge me full-pop every month until I can pay in full before they can/will cancel my account.

Trust me I did NOT misunderstand this girl as I repeated myself twice and had her repeat this back to me...

I don't think they can do that... not let me work out, still charge me full price for a service that I've been revoked of, and then tell me that it is policy to make me pay in full before they can/will cancel my account.
