Save yourself the trouble and just hang up.

The cold call came in and in order to confirm to CANCEL they record you and then play it back to you up to a year later with a manipulated recording of you authorizing the transaction. What a bunch of !#$%.

I have taken advice of others here and filed complaints with the FTC and AG office.

Other thing to keep an eye on is that they will continually send you an invoice with a different account number and remit to address posing as other vendor. The cancellation letter that I received of course had a different account number on it than the invoice that followed it.

Then there's A.C.A Recovery, Inc. that sends an invoice for the client name yellowpagesexpress2.com..... a site that doesn't exist.

just avoid all the hassle and HANG UP!

I am dealing with this same problem, which is how I found this web page. I got the phony invoices, then started getting calls from A.C.A. Recovery. When I spoke with A.C.A. on the phone, I told them that i never ordered the service and unless they could provide proof that i legitimately owed the debt there was no way i was going to pay it. The agent at A.C.A. said to hold while he checked on the proof, then the next thing i know there is another person on the line who launches into a script about the alleged debt. When i tried to speak it was as if he could not hear me or completely ignored me, so i hung up. I just received a letter threatening to report me to the credit bureaus. It's a scam!

    Contact FTC.

Thompson Hill Publishing/Regional Yellow Pages Online, and various other names, was sued by FTC, and is covered by a permanent injunction, yet ACA Recovery has been collecting on their bogus "accounts" after the injunction was issued.

They did the same to me and it is a scam they must get business info some how but they, recorded my voioce and did they same played it back saying I oked $604.95 wow same number again. They should be creative. File a complaint because there may be the little old business owner that they will really get money out of. We as Americans can let them tear our economic position up more than it is.

I was also scammed by Regional Yellow pages online. Same thing recorded my voice saying I agreed to pay a online ad. They doctored the recording and said my credit would be effected. So I pd with cc to get them off of me. Then it happened again they  said it was a 2 year contract. I never said yes in the conversation and later changed my cc # to stop the fraud. I will now know not to just pay when someone says i owe something. The person I talked to had a forien accent.
