6 years ago we purchased a bob o pedic mattress - the one in the showroom was very comfy but the one they delivered was not - we kept it anyways - for weeks it had a funny odor - from day one i had the mattress and box spring encased with expensive zip enclosures and also used a waterproof mattress pad to keep it fresh - WE ARE CLEAN PEOPLE -  last week we pulled apart our bedroom to paint and when i removed the enclosure on the mattress ( which we do one a regular basis to wash it ) i noticed to my complete horror that the top of the mattress cover that comes on the mattress is cloth and the bottom is rubber and it was COVERED with mold - i freaked out and threw away the covering to the mattress and am going out this week to buy a new one from anyplace but BOBS - i have a severe allergy to mold and dont even want to sleep on it - has anyone else had this problem

      I'm have the same problem with the there's black mold on the bottom of my mattress and we bought the cover with the mattress we are so disappointed with Bob's furniture they need to replace everybody mattress we will be calling them today !! 😬

        Funny I have the same problem. The bottom it made of rubber. I have been getting the run around for weeks. They first offered me a new mattress. When I told them I replaced the mattress the guy took offense and said well you didn't buy the mattress protector therefore we can not help you. So now I take it to the BBB and the media. I am so done with that store. I will never buy from them again. They do not stand behind the products they sell. So glad I bought my new mattress frommPC Richard and sons.

      We just bought bobs memory foam mattress and it smells like mold we have had it for two weeks and the smell came after the first week.   So scared the mold is growing in it. It smells like water damage mold

      I hope they helped you. I have the same problem on a 3 year old mattress. I have been getting nothing but the run around from them. I sent them pictures like the requested. I was promised a 24 to 48 hour time frame for their response and nothing. I call get someone on the phone and they cannot find the claim. Doing a BBB complaint.

        Did you get a refund? I just noticed all mold on the bottom of mine. Pissed. I've had it for about one month.

      Everyone of you at Bob’s. You lie constantly and rip your customers off. Myself being one of them.
      Anyone affected should get a lawyer and start a class action lawsuit against Bob’s before someone who is allergic dies or others get sick.

    I recently experienced the same thing! I purchased my Bob O' Pedic two years ago (almost to the day) and decided to look under the original mattress cover. I have been using the mattress protector cover in addition to the cover of the mattress since I purchased it at Bob's. I have washed the protective cover multiple times but never thought to look under the actual foam mattress cover. The top of the mattress is spotless. The underside, where the rubber part of the cover is is COVERED in mold. I was MORTIFIED. I too have a severe mold allergy and it concerns me greatly to be sleeping on it after this dreadful discovery. I contacted the Bob's customer service line and was told I needed to contact the fabric care hotline, which was not open at the time I called. I am extremely concerned and hope I can resolve this situation ASAP. Did your situation get resolved?

    I have just found the same issue on my Bob O Pedic inside my couch.  I called the warranty department and they said that there is nothing that they can do.  In fact they tried to place the blame on me.  We keep our furniture very clean and do not have mold anywhere else in our apartment.

    my bf got his mattress last march  a bob o pedic he had the goof proof covering on it that they said would be good hes had his mattress only a year and he already has black mold on  the bottom he called them today and they wanted pictures of the mattress he does have a 15 year war on it but he is not sure if that is covered under it times are tough for us as we are planning a wedding for next summer and dont have the extra funds to get him  new mattress they said they would get back to him within 24 hours hopefully they will do right by it and replace it

    My fiance and I got a BOB-O-PEDIC 2 months ago....yes...2 MONTHS... and as I'm putting new sheets on it I got a horrible odor in my nose. I turned it over and oh my god! Mold is on the cover..the foam. Its disgusting! I have no idea what to do! Times are so hard my son my finace and myself have asthma (as I also got a pedic for my son) and that was money I sure as hell did not have. 200$ later and 2 MONTHS later I have a mold problem and have to deal with it? Bobs will NEVER get my business ever again. You people screwed me and put my son at risk! And I am for sure going and ripping a new one to one of your managers tomorrow morning. If there is anybody with this problem (as there are a lot that do!) If you find a way to clean it...please help.

    My fiance and I purchased a bedroom set from Bobs about 1yr and 5 months ago...A few days ago a picture had dropped behind one of the dressers and to my surprise I found MOLD growing all over the back then I opened it up and it was all over hte wood inside. I then checked my dresser and the saem issue had occured...Keep in mind we have a new condo, central AC and no other wood furniture we have in our house has mold in it, only what we had purchased from Bobs. The manager I called said there was nothing they could do about....There goes my $2,000 bedroom set....I will NEVER go back to Bobs

    I had the same problem but i never use the cover to protect form water prany liquida, so im sure Bob is going to say that it was me, i olso had a problem with the base it keep braking!!!!!!! Change it once and the second time the se it broke but decided not to call or bather to waiste time. I do t have allergic to anythong but im concern

    I love how the Goof Protector says that it's MOLD & MILDEW Resistant it certainly is anything but!
    We purchased the BOB-O-PEDIC($1,200.00) in May of this year and by Novemeber it has black mold, all underneath the bed protectors.
    We have a newborn, I don't want the baby  to be exposed to this!
    Also, Bob's told us to contact the bed protectors which we did and they notified us by stating that they've not done business with Bob's Discount Furniture Stores in over 3 YEARS!  
    Bob's Discount Furniture Stores is nothing but scam artists.

    Just today i was removing the cover to my daughters Bob-O-Pedic mattress. When I looked on the underside I noticed a blackish stain. To my HORROR the whole bottom of the mattress was covered in mold!!!! I removed the cover and found the mold all over the mattress too. This bed is only 3 years old and I am so upset to think my 2 girls 14 and 15 have been sleeping on mold for who knows how long..... We spent a fortune on this top of the line Queen size bed and I plan to contact Bob's in the morning. I took a chance and googled "mold on Bob-O-Pedic mattress" and found many others in my situation. I'm concerned that this toxic substance has contributed with my daughters "asthma and allergies" that have started over the past couple of years. Hopefully, Bob's will take this matter seriously and consider this a very dangerous issue for all of their customers.
