I was a LA fitness club member for over 4 years.I have to cancel it last year because of my puppy. Now I want to re-join the club again so yesterday(2/27/12) me and my friend went to the Arcadia club try to talk to somebody. The staff's name is Jonny Blanco. For some reason he was not able to pull out the right record of my previous information. I told him I used to have $29.99/month and can bring a friend with me, he said that was not in the system, so you didn't have this offer. My friend went to this club with me more than 20 times before I cancelled it! So I asked if I can get this deal again, he didn't give me direct answers, just saying that was not what I had. Then my friend said " well then, we'll get for 24-hr fitness." Then he said:" IF YOU CAN'T AFFORD LA FITNESS THEN GO FOR 24-HRS FITNESS"
We couldn't believe that was coming from the "friendly" "Professional" "trained" staff! I replied:" It's not about I can afford it or not, I just want to know if I can get the same deal that I used to have." Jonny wasn't apologizing for what he just have said, he said:" I CAN'T GIVE YOU THE DEAL THAT YOU IMAGINE YOU HAVE" So we left the club feel very insulted. I can't believe that how can LA fitness has someone like Jonny, treat the previous member and possibly new members in such a way! What kind of staff LA fitness hired? I feel like me and my friend will NEVER go with LA fitness again, and we'll tell all my friends how we were being treated at the Arcadia club.

    I was thinking to try LA fitness for a week, so I brought along the 7 days pass that my friend gave me. I waited for a while until a sales approached me. He asked for my ID, and kept asking me weird questions like what's my goal for coming here, and keep on telling me that there's no point to just stay for 7 days and leave. I remember my friends told me to be careful on these sales, because they will make you buy their package. Therefore I stand very firm saying "I only want 7 days for now and please activate the 7 days pass for me" for many times when he told me 7 days had no point. After that, the sales was having some very bad attitude on me, and said "sorry, I can't do this for you now, I'm officially off work now".  I'm pissed because these sales are not knowing what respect means, by forcing ppl to not only try 7 days, they're even irresponsible, and do not know how to serve at all.  I'm totally disappointed.  Was thinking to maybe join for some months after these 7 days, but now, forget it! This arcadia LA fitness do have very bad service.

    Pool is dirty, no one goes pee outside of the pool. Usually public pools a lifegurad or asssociate calls an hour potty break for everyone to use the restroom to ensure not swimming in urine. I saw bandaids, bloody scabs, and toilet paper under water at ten oclock with my goggles on. and the water was yellow. there are so many racist asian people its weird. They almost take over the pool as if we are at war in the pool???? About 30 people use the pool at a time, so they swim in a circle. One cant not swim laps ever there? there shouuld be a lower occupancy rule. Also, the Kids club there was a stapler, in the baby area, and a pen, and no one was wiping down anything? The girls seemed to be really stoned or withdrawn and dont like their jobs either way I would not leave my child with them. La verne is so much better and that sucks because Its 3o miles away and worth the drive. Not as bad as Main St alhambra but bad. Business is easy, good customer service for the paying custoemrs.

    THEY ONLY WANT YOUR MONEY AND WILL LIE TO YOU AND PUT YOU LIABLE THROUGH CONTRACTS. please read this before you get a membership.
    As a college student, I was looking for a short contract. I was overly harassed after going in twice and got hundreds of calls in one week. The sales man told me FALSE FALSE and FALSE information. First he told me it was only a two month contract, so i signed it. He said I could cancel at anytime. But I had school across the states! He said to call in at anytime. So while I was in school, I gave them a call to cancel it. I only got passed on and never called back to be helped. And one year later i finally come back to California and I try to cancel my account. Guess what, I was charged 30 bucks every month. I didn't know this becuase that debit card I used was my personal account that I have been saving up. So I didn't bother to use the card or check the statements. The manager, CRISTINA M. could only say to me "i understand where you are coming from" and go on how I signed this god damn contract and they at not liable for their saleman's terrible false information. That should be sued for!
    As scared as I was about telling my mom, I did. She said this sounded so familiar about a two month contract. She remembered her friend who travels to Taiwan often signed this contract. Quickly, she calls to inform her what had happened to me and hoping that it didn't happen to her. And it did. You know what was worse? She only wanted two months before she had to travel. The salesman KNEW. The friend paid IN CASH her two month's fee. But the salesman insisted on having a creditcard on her account so she would be liable. Little did she know, she was being tried to being charged $30 a month the next five months.
