Charges appeared on my Master Card that I  never  signed up for.  I may have, in passing, looked at their web site but never signed up for it nor did I give my credit  card number

    Who knows..
    how they got your card number, but you didn't provide it to them to authorize a charge.

    Contact your bank to dispute them as unauthorized, and have them block your card number to prevent further charges.  Your bank can reverse charges back 2 to 3 months if you dispute promptly, under FCBA.
