We have been with Dish Network (at our current address) for 8 years. They recently cancelled two of the most watched channels in my home (CNN and Cartoon Network.) When I called to cancel, they offered Cinemax for 3 months, or $5 discounts on our service.
They transferred me to someone else who told me they would not allow me to cancel without paying them a $193 termination fee. O....K... Can I charge Dish Network a fee for terminating my chosen programming? We upheld our end of the bargain for the last 8 years, but Dish simply isn't offering our programming anymore.
The last person I spoke with told me I will have to wait 7-10 days to see if they have a copy of a signed contract on file. She told me if they can't find the contract, they will not charge the $193 and if they do find the contract, they will charge the $193. I will update this complaint with the results.
