Automatically changed dates - Scam???

I conducted a search on Cheapoair web site, as I have done many times in the past and reviewed the dates of the ticket and everything was in order. I booked the trip and sent and e-mail off to a friend with the travel info and he replied, why are you coming back earlier? What?? I called Cheapoair and asked what happened? The dates were correct before I click on purchase the ticket and I was told I had clicked on the cheapest fare. So the system automatically booked me to come back two days earlier, because it is cheaper (RIGHT). This would greatly affect my trip, because I am meeting 3 other individuals and splitting the cost of the hotel and planned deep sea fishing trip that I would miss. The Cheapoair rep informed me that to change my ticket it would cost me $259 on top of the $551.33 already paid. I was told that was waiving the change fee, because I was 12 hours over the 24 hour grace period. I asked why some much, I was told there were any other seat available Arriving and leaving on the dates selected. I was at home and didn't have access to the internet so I reluctantly took her word and made the change, now the ticket cost me $810!! I finally logged on to Priceline to see what I would pay for tickets and sure enough only $559, full round trip. It appears I was ripped off by the old smoke and mirror trick. So I went to the cheap chat room and submitted a request to see who I could complain to and it has been 50 minutes and it keeps telling me someone will be with me shortly. Ooops, the chant screen just refreshed and now it is asking what my question is and it appear my first request didn’t go through, very frustrating. I guess I will get more satisfaction from complaining to the Better Business Bureau!! That is most likely my next move, at least others can learn from what happen to me... One very unhappy customer that is planning on continuously complaining to anyone and everyone for years to come about Cheapoair’s customer satisfaction!! I need to feel I am getting something for the $259 I was charfged. As it stands, Cheapoair, you will see my name a lot in the future, but not on airline tickets. I would much rather work something out, but so far that isn't on the table...

$150.00 airline penalty went to the airlines for making the change to your correct dates.
$109.20 was the airfare difference because the date you actually wanted was more expensive, so you had to buy up to the new fare.
We are very sorry for the inconvenience, but as a travel agency we do have to abide by the rules in place by the airlines. Our website also has in two places displayed on the screen in RED that these particular flights are ALTERNATE DATES. If the correct dates had been selected and alternate dates by passed, we would not be having this complaint, you still would of had the $109.20 extra in the airfare, it would of been the $150.00 that you would not of been charged to correct the over sight. At this time we have refunded you back $25.00, you should see the refund within 10 business days back to your original card.
