A couple of nights ago we had a nice young man stop at our door.  He had a lanyard around his neck w/his name: Morgan and the logo for Direct TV.  He said he was out talking with customers about their service and to help them upgrade their equipment.  We chatted outside for a few minutes (I don’t usually let sales people in my house).  My husband came out and he also spoke with the young man.  We felt comfortable enough to allow him to come in and see what equipment we were currently using.  Now that he is in our house, we notice that his shirt says Dish and his name lanyard is turned backwards.  He tells us he works for both companies and asks why we use Direct TV.  He tells us that the only difference is the NFL package and if we are not purchasing that, there is really no reason for us to have Direct TV and that if he changes us over to Direct TV he can save us quite a bit of money.  So we discuss the channels, the package, the installation process, schedule a date and he bills us for the Dish package, at which point my husband asks why they cannot credit the payment he just sent off to Direct TV 3 days prior.  He said he cannot legally access that information and that we will need to contact Direct TV for a refund.  We began feeling uneasy about this situation.  He left promptly as the questions began.  Why are working for both companies and selling us one over the other? (to save you money was the reply).  I am reporting this to the BBB as well as directly to Dish.  I may even get some advice from an attorney at this point.  I am feeling rather duped and boy if the package he sold us does not hold true for the two years he quoted us….there could be some hell to pay.
I just felt like you should know as I am sure if this was handled inappropriately you would want to know.
