Unauthorized Charges made to my Credit Card
Complaint
Vicki Stanton
Country: United States
I received the coffee earlier in the year but the coffee I just received was not authorized to be deducted from my credit card account. But I canceled it after I paid for the coffee I received. However I did not order any this Month and I was sent two bags and two cheap cups to go along with the coffee. I was billed from the coffee Seattle (SHOPCOFFEEDIRECT.com) I was charged $79.00 from the coffee company and I was also charged $79.00 from PUBLICATIONSMAX.COM. The reference # for publicatioonsmax.com is MT093340103000010068896. the reference # for the shopcoffeedirect.com is MT093380106000010040251. The charge from publicationsmax.com was taken off my credit card on 11-27 (transaction date) and the Post date was 11-30. The charge from shopcoffeedirect.com was taken off my credit card on 12-2 (transaction date )and Post date was12-04 I would like a refund put back on my credit card from the Publicationsmax.com for #79.00 account ending with 0583. I tried to call the coffee place with their toll free number and I just keep getting put on hold and then they hang up. Their # is 1-888-730-6363. The other # they gave me was 1-888-208-2500. Neither call was answered to talk to anyone. I will pay for the amount of coffee for the price of the coffee, but I will not pay #79.00 for 2bags of coffee and two cheap cups that are supposed to be free. My case # is 091222781247. This is the number from my credit card company for future references about these charges. I would appreciate this matter to be taken care of immediately. They should not get away with this. Thank you,

They have been engaged in deceptive marketing of a range of products, from coffee to posters to magazines, for years. They have recently been reported to have "reactivated" old cancelled accounts, resulting in a new wave of complaints of unauthorized charges.
Dispute fraudulent charges through your bank, and close your account due to fraud to prevent additional fraudulent charges.
File complaints with FTC, the Illinois Attorney General, and www.ic3.gov
It had the name of Vicki Stanton on it so that's how I found THIS site.
I s/w another Vicki Stanton and she'd had some trouble with credit card fraud too. She couldn't remember though if the card number I gave her (only the last 4 digits) was one of hers or not.
The order I rec'd had HER street address on it, but a city of "Des Moines" in the state of Washington, but with the Seattle zip code.
So to the Vicki Stanton posting here, I strongly urge you to call your credit card company and ask them to issue you a new credit card, since at least part of your identity has been hacked! Whew it's a jungle out here!
All the best,
Jack

If you lost money due to unauthorized charges, file a complaint with the Illinois Attorney General, but still make sure you dispute any charges through your bank immediately, since if the company turns out to be insolvent, bank disputes within 60 days may still push the loss back on this company's payment processor and retrieve your money.
There are reports by some consumers of cancelling accounts a year or so, and finding recent fraudulent charges, apparently due to the company reusing old account information.
Since they operate under a variety of names, some consumers may have once paid for one product (like posters from "posterpass.com"), and later gotten charged for "coffee" (from "Seattle Coffee Direct" or many other names), which may or may not have been shipped.
This company is known for cramming charges for alleged "automatic shipments". Since the resulting charges are set up as repeated automatic charges, the payment and banking systems may allow them to roll over to replacement accounts even when you close an earlier account due to fraud.
Immediately contact your bank to dispute all unauthorized charges. Follow up with a WRITTEN DISPUTE or notarized fraud affidavit, sent to your bank's address for sending disputes from your statement, and send it certified so you can prove when you mailed it. Or go into your bank branch and get assistance in disputing their fraudulent charges, but make sure your dispute is IN WRITING. Your bank should be able to reverse unauthorized and fraudulent charges reported within 60 days of the statement date of the statement showing the disputed charge, under FRB Reg. E, or FCBA.
If you have problems getting assistance from your bank with recovering fraudulent charges, contact the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, at www.occ.gov, in order to file a complaint against your bank for violation of FRB Reg. E.
