unable to get prorated on a defective battery

went to get a replacement battery for my truck and a prorate on the defective one when I was told I couldn't because of a bad check I have.  I haven't used checks in over 10 yrs and when I called tele check I was told there was nothing on file .  I could not get a hold of trs recovery to find out the problem.   we haven't used checks in well over 10 yrs and last time I used them we had some stolen off of us and that is all I can figure out.  this is why I quit using them
