I made a mistake signing up for a promotional offer with this company at the begining of 2009.  As with other people, I recieved the promotional gift and was immediatly charged for the next two months of a coffee subscription.  The coffee was awful and after several calls to cancel they continued to bill me.  They finally stopped billing me in the Mar/Apr 2009 time frame and were suppose to credit me $38.00.  The $38.00 refund never came and I let that go chalking this up as a bad experience which was now over.  Today (Nov 24, 2009) I just recieved a $79.00 charge from them.  I called to advised them that I made no order and demanded that they refund me immediately.  They said somebody place the order today and that maybe this is fraudulent, but to me this is their doing.  This company is a scam.  The peddle bad coffee use deceptive billing practices to bilk money from people.  Avoid them.

Ditto. It has been over a year since I tried their coffee deal and promptly cancelled once I tried the coffee. Yesterday they billed me the same amoun as the folks above- $79. I did not order anything. Looks like a serious scam on innocent people who once trusted them with their credit card info. Shameful.

Back in September we also signed up for the $2 trial offer of teas.  I would have seriously considered their product and may have even set up a recurring order with them.  However, about a day after the $2 was processed they immediately charged my card again for nearly $40.  They told me I had accidentally signed up for a weekly shipment and that I'd have to wait 4-6 weeks for a refund to post to my account.  My bank told me to wait to see if they posted the credit.  BIG MISTAKE!  This weekend I noticed a charged for $79 from Seattle Coffee Direct also Tea Francais and evidentally they have MANY more names they go under.  So, I have filed a formal complaint with the BBB in IL and called my bank and this time they said I had to wait til the payment cleared (they wouldn't stop payment) then I need to filed a dispute.   They also told me that I was given wrong info last time and I should've filed a dispute last time and now it's probably too late to get the $40 back unless the BBB can help.  This sucks!  I have 3 kids and we're moving over 1,000 miles in less than 2 weeks!  I'm not even able to close our bank account now until AFTER we move because I won't get the money back otherwise!  This sucks!  They've canceled my card and told me to just use my husband's for now since I gave them my card info.  This is RIDICULOUS!  If they are THAT desperate for money they need to keep their word.  Maybe then they would be able to keep customers.  I've found out they pulled similar stunts back in 2008.  They likely will attempt to due a weekly billing of $79 until they are stopped.  Make sure to CANCEL your card and get a new one so they can't keep billing you.
