Just got this weird transaction from my NFCU account in the amount of $149.99 through this Digital Star +4420 +442081237377 GB. Having to cancel card as well and get new one. Any one know what company or intel this might be coming from that's hacking into our accounts???

a "heavily-accented" individual who kept ignoring the fact that apparently their account has
been hacked, and kept admonishing me "not to open any phishing e-mails with the Amazon
name on it" - despite the fact that I repeated to him, patiently, over and over that I had NOT
opened up any such e-mails.
Either this individual was remarkably obtuse - or could HE be part of the problem?!
(and private) information online. Barring someone who has actual access through
working in a credit department, something like this could be the culprit in some of
these cases.

If you are getting fraudulent charges, IMMEDIATELY block the card number, and submit a fraud dispute to your bank. Your bank can reverse fraudulent charges if you dispute promptly.
This is definetely fraud
Card blocked.
Bank informed.
Suggestion: Do not wait. Block the card and submit the dispute to your bank.
The overall picture is that fraudulent credit and debit card charges are being run through under this name, in only a few different amounts, typically $74.95 plus currency fee, $150, and $500. Basically it's a criminal theft operation.
Despite lots of Amazon customers reporting charges, it doesn't appear to be a merchant or bank hack, since there are also reports of charges to cards that have been seldom or never used. They may be "pinging", trying random card numbers and exp. dates until they get a hit.
The complaint rate has been dropping over the last few weeks, with most recent complaints reporting finding charges on monthly statements, rather than from checking accounts online. Not clear whether it has been shut down yet.
