I did call Amazon .com and they are getting lots of reports of this happening. This is crazy. What a shame this world has come to for stealing from people and this is from the UK so its all over the world. Call amazon @ : 1800-201-7575 and they can make a claim to do an investigation for you. Hopefully this can be resolved.

I'm glad that you're at least getting some action from Amazon. When I called, I spoke with
a "heavily-accented" individual who kept ignoring the fact that apparently their account has
been hacked, and kept admonishing me "not to open any phishing e-mails with the Amazon
name on it" - despite the fact that I repeated to him, patiently, over and over that I had NOT
        opened up any such e-mails.

Either this individual was remarkably obtuse - or could HE be part of the problem?!

I just had the same thing happen to me.  Just went on my bank account to check my balance and I couldn't figure out why my balance was so low.  I noticed the $149.99 charge from Digital Star +4420.  I have now canceled my card as well and have to wait on a new one.  I don't use my card online so I just don't understand how they are getting my number.

There are plenty of "detective-type" websites that sell access to all sorts of public
(and private) information online. Barring someone who has actual access through
working in a credit department, something like this could be the culprit in some of
      these cases.

Numerous similar reports of fraudulent charges are being reported on other threads.  It appears that "Digital Star Ltd." was "dissolved" on Jan. 29, 2012.  It looks like their merchant account is now under control of criminals submitting fraudulent charges.

    Main thread:
    https://complaintwire.org/complaint/ubMBAAAAAAA/digital-star

If you are getting fraudulent charges, IMMEDIATELY block the card number, and submit a fraud dispute to your bank.  Your bank can reverse fraudulent charges if you dispute promptly.

Don;t think Digital Star was dissolved in January.  I have a January charge on my credit card for $74.95 and another one showed up in February 19.  Credit card company removed the charges and sending me a new card with new account number.

I just opened up my credit card bill and saw a $49.99 charge from "Digital Star +44208123 +442081237377 GB" posted on 26 Jan 2012, from a transaction date of 25 Jan, and a $0.99 foreign transaction fee charge from matching dates. I haven't used the credit card since 9 Nov 2011. I'm not happy about the fraudulent charge. I am happy with how US Bank handled it when I called. They filed the fraudulent complaint and are issuing me the new card. I hope the thieves get caught.

"Digital Star +44208123 +442081237377 GB" charged $ 149.99 to my credit card February 10 th. Had my card cancelled and reported it to the credit card company at the same time. Hopefully reimbursement will take place after written complaint has been filed. It seems as they are doing this around the world, because I reside in Germany.

Digital Star +4420 +442081237377 had charged $74.95 on 2/20. I recieved a replacement card from my bank on Tuesday 2/21. I didn't think much about it until my wife questioned me about the transaction. After contacting my bank about the unauthorized charge, they informed me that my card had been comprimised and that was the reason that I was issued a new one. I guess it was a don't ask don't tell situation.

I got a call from my bank this past Saturday about a statement on my account. I logged on the internet first to look at my account and saw 149.99 pending on my account. needless to say I called the bank promptly and within minutes solved the problem. Although I had to wait until Tuesday to file a fraud claim b/c the statement had to post, I was able to get my money back 48 hours later. I am happy about how fast NFCU was able to help me, but I still would like them to find out who is doing this.

For me it was end of January (28th) and 74.95 plus the 1.50 for out of country fee.  Called and called the card immediately and will have to file fraud papers.  Who is doing this?  Sucks!

File a fraud dispute with your bank.  Send back a fraud affidavit.  Your bank should reverse the charges as long as you dispute it promptly.

The overall picture is that fraudulent credit and debit card charges are being run through under this name, in only a few different amounts, typically $74.95 plus currency fee, $150, and $500.  Basically it's a criminal theft operation.

Despite lots of Amazon customers reporting charges, it doesn't appear to be a merchant or bank hack, since there are also reports of charges to cards that have been seldom or never used.  They may be "pinging", trying random card numbers and exp. dates until they get a hit.

The complaint rate has been dropping over the last few weeks, with most recent complaints reporting finding charges on monthly statements, rather than from checking accounts online.  Not clear whether it has been shut down yet.

I was charged 74.95 on 2/6 /12 @ 2/21/12  after I ordered from Telebrands (shed pals) I called telebrands and was told  Digital was a third party and they would get this corrected. I've called 4 times now and telebrands has done nothing but give me the runaround.I hope i can get my bank to refund my money and i'll cancell my card.
