    Peerless is a VoIP telecom..
Contact them directly to report use of their network in an "IRS" shakedown racket.  They can shut down the account.

I received an automated message from Victoria Johnson from the IRS.  I worked in accounting for over 15 years and handle IRS audits and I can tell you that the clients first received a letter in the mail for them to call them.  IRS is not in the business to making phones calls without sending out letters.  You will receive multiple letters and they will instruct you to call and if you do not respond within the allowed time frame given they will then take action which is usually wage garnishment. This has been on the news stating it is a scam and they have been scamming people out of money.  The phone number that called me is 805-465-6497 and is out of camarillo, ca.  THIS IS A SCAM.

Thank you for posting this. I have received numerous calls from different numbers and names. The Victoria Johnson, Nicki Johnson, Nicole Smith and also from the number 714-923-7238.  I have never had a problem with the IRS but I do know that they send you a letter regarding things. Calls like this are alarming because of the ease ability of not only scams but identity theft. People really need to be careful. Check the number out with your state: ex; 714 is CA, I have never lived in CA. Which brings up identity theft possibilities IF THIS WERE LEGIT IRS BUT ITS NOT! Check with yoir IRS office people and check your credit people. Lifelock is looking like a good ideal. Again thank you for your comment.

I received an automated message from Victoria Johnson with the IRS that I should not ignore or they were going to take a reaction against me.  Yes you read it correctly she stated "reaction".  However, after working in accounting for over 15 years and with the IRS, I can tell you that they will contact you by mail by many attempts before trying to call you.  This is a major scam.

I too have just received a call from an automated voice mail. My caller ID states the same number, city & state of 805-465-6497 out of Camarillo, CA.  As many people have posted. With multiple grammatical errors, threatening criminal action stemming from unpaid taxes etc...This is NOT legitimate, A TOTAL SCAM designed to pray upon fear. Simply call the IRS and have the customer support and check, they will confirm to you the actual state of your affairs and also report the scam! It may take you a few mins, but it was well worth my time to report these criminals!

I just received a call and inadvertently answered without my eyeglasses. If I had my glasses on my phone was telling me that it was a Spam call. IRS does not make phone calls they send letters.

I received numerous voicemail messages from this number.  I refuse to answer, because they are a serious SCAM!  The IRS does not make phone calls, they communicate through mail. If one receives documents in the mail, do not call the phone number directly listed on documents received.  Google the number for the IRS and call the IRS directly.  This is s bogus scam to threaten people to hand over their identity.
