Wanted a refund and they refused

I wish I had investigated this site before I handed over $750.00 on my credit card to Ashford Publishing. I had doubts the day after I agreed and canceled my transaction with them in writing - well within the 72 hour timeframe outlined on their invoice. They refused to refund the transaction and said if I dispute the charge, they will dispute it to claiming they've done all this work on a press release - a press release that had absolutely no input or information from me! I do plant to dispute the charge with my credit card company so wish me luck!

Their threat is designed to head off your expected fraud dispute, which shows that they get a lot of fraud disputes. If they can get some people to give up at that point, or to wait past the 60 day FCBA or FRB Reg. E bank dispute periods, they win.
Dispute it through your bank anyway as fraudulent. They are claiming to have done "work" that they haven't and couldn't possibly have done, as an excuse to reject your cancellation within the 72 hours documented in their invoice terms, in breach of the agreement.
