My father has been getting calls from Mega Million Corp in Las Vegas NV.  The caller stated that Dad won 29 million and did he want check or cash.  Dad agreed cash and they arraigned to meet at Dad's bank. They told him an armored truck was going to deliver the cash and when he got it, he was to give them a check for 2500.00 for fees to the courier/bank for delivering the money.  I waited with my dad and at 10:30, the appointed time, the phone rang.  Caller stated that the armored truck was delayed in Fort Wayne and he would be charging the bank a fine for the delay.  He put us on hold several times and finally came back to tell us that Dad was to go home and wait for them to sort things out.  We had a law officer with us to verify all this.  The officer also called the phone number and asked questions.  The  "lottery" rep. then called dad back and told him it wasn't cool to call the police and involve them.  But he still wanted to give dad all that money!  So dad went home and soon the phone rang again.  This time it was someone claiming they had the armored truck pulled over and could not let it go without a "stamp".  But they still wanted to give him the 11 million.  (yes, it went from 29 to 11). But Dad needed to go to the post office, get two
$1200.00 money orders and call them back so they could tell him where to send the money.  Dad went to the police station and spoke to the officer we had previously seen.  The phone rang, and the officer talked to the caller.  He told them twice to either deliver the money or stop calling.  While he was on his way out the door, the phone rang again, another officer spoke to the caller and told them again several times, to stop calling this number.  Both officers explained who they were and were very forceful about telling them to stop calling Dad.  On the way home, the phone rang three more times.  I will block the number, but a new burner phone will be used to call him with a new scam.  It may be time for a new phone number.  I hope this helps someone, these people are horrible!

    Typical "lottery" scam..
Jamaica is currently the most common origin for this type of scam.
Although they claimed to be in "Las Vegas", were any of the calling numbers 876 area code?

Yes, you should probably change his number.  Jamaican scammers don't really care even if the police answer their calls, although you might contact DHS, since they assisted Jamaican authorities in raiding several of these scammers several years ago.
