Lower Interest Rates

Complaint

I get calls 3-4 times a week about lowering my interest rate on any Visa or Master Card.  One agent (6/23/08) got "smart" with me and when I told her that I did not appreciate it, she told me that she would keep me on automatic dial up and then hung up.  Today (6/25/08) I asked for the name of their company and was told Account Services.  When I asked her for their phone number, she hung up.  I have asked this outfit to take me off their phone list, but they have not done so.  I checked with the phone company and they said I would need caller ID to get their phone number, but I don't want to pay $10/month for caller ID.  Therefore, the phone company, ATT, could not help me.  I am at a loss as to any recourse.

Look into package deals including caller ID and an unlisted number.  They may be cheaper.

Alternatively, get one of several boxes that play a message and require that a code be punched in to be rung through to your phone.

I have the same problem. You may be able to *69 once or twice. I find they use different numbers each time and I have had the same experience when trying to speak with them. I filed a complaint with the FCC and gave as much information as possible. I hope it helps but I'm still getting calls from them at this time.

you people are lucky, i get 3 calls every day, for over a year and the fcc will do nothing, i wish i had a number to call, i would call them every day every hour, these peopl dont care if you sleep in the day, half the time they wont even answer, it will disconnect when you press one. anybody that would work for this company is a huge looser that cant make it in the real world. i have logged over a hundered calls last year, around 15 different phone numbers that you cant call back. the government needs to do something
