Water leaking on the floor.

I have a 1941 Maytag Model E. It worked fine for over 70 years. Last month it started leaking water. I looked under it, and would you know it, the main pump gasket was shot! Now they tell me they don't make parts for that model, anymore. The animal rights activists won't let them make leather gaskets, either, can you believe that? Good thing I had an old military boot lying around. I cut the tongue out of it, and made my own makeshift gasket. Cheap piece of junk never blew a gasket before!
