A Woman called me at my place of business from this number and asked for me by name. She claimed I had a visa with Capitol One and I said that I didn't. She asked if I had used a different name, which I thought was odd. I said no. Then she went on to give me a social security number which I said wasn't mine. I made it very clear that I am not the person she was looking for and yet the woman kept on talking wouldn't end the call. She threatened me with how my credit was going to be ruined etc. Where do they get their information? Doesnt the statement that I am not who you are looking for end the conversation?

    stalked by Claire Arndt
Anyone this sick like Claire Arndt who is abusive and criminal towards so many people, must be a poor mother as well.

I plan on contacting child protection services to investigate her, and hopefully get her children into a safe foster home, away from this degenerate who may call herself a woman, but acts like a demented man.

They were calling my phone constantly too, and I never answer numbers I don't recognize. But one day, my son answered my phone and thought they asked for me when they were asking for a name similar to mine. He couldn't understand her because of her accent. When I got on the line and told her I wasn't the one she was looking for, she said, "Oh, yeah, then why did your son give you the phone?" I told her, "Because he's nine, and he couldn't understand you. I AM NOT the person you are looking for." She said, "Sure!" and she hung up on me! Talk about manners! So I suggest you do what I do, and NOT answer unsolicited calls.

Don't engage these people.   Waste their time by picking-up the phone and hanging up.  Make a person pick-up on the other end.  They'll spend money on employees and never collect a penny from you.  Dispute everything if they file a false payment on your credit report.  Sue them, if you have money and tie them-up; you'll win as long as the debt is not valid - but court is a waste of time and energy too.  The only solution is that if nobody pays them - they go under and no more calls.  Find creative ways to waste their employee's time since they are wasting yours...and never give them a dime.

Here is a picture of the CEO Steven D. Fredrickson in case anyone sees him on the street.   Steven if you're going to illegally harass people for unsubstantiated debts - it might be wise not publish the pic on the internet.  It might spread everywhere - even on sites where you cannot remove it.

    Enjoy karma Steven - http://money.cnn.com/galleries/2007/fsb/0706/ ... ecs.fsb/23.html

Portfolio Recovery Associates, will ignore cease & desist letter and will not respond to requests that they validate the loan. If you try to talk to them by phone they are rude, insulting and uncooperative. They don't want the truth - they just want money from you even if not your debt. They call your job and home and will deliberately leave messages on the phones of co-workers. the above jerks are the same people that voted for the terrorist
muslim antichrist obama. if you want money from me come to my home and i will open a can of redneck ass kicking on you. i bet there calls will slow down.  georgia redneck

Steven D Fredrickson and his nazi wife Mara Fredrickson should go on trial for all the lives they have ruined. They are one of the worst scammers on this planet and I'd like to see both of them incarcerated for a very long time.

You do realize there are laws against that. It even states it on the FCRA, that they are not allowed to re-age these accounts. Once it is past the 7 to 10 years, regardless if you make a payment or not it has to come off your credit. Also, if they are calling your cell phone, that is illegal as well, unless you gave them a cell number to call or you put your cell phone number down on the original application.
Old debt from over 10 years ago, I doubt we would have given our cell phone number at that time.

I received several calls and ignored the number.  I called back and a woman answered, asked for my name and account number.  I told here I do not have an account with them, but someone keeps calling my cell phone.  She asked for the number -- which I gave to her.  She check her computer and said there were two names associated with my cell phone number -- she gave me the names, I told her no one by those names is associated with me or my cell phone number.  She said she was removing my phone number from those accounts, and that I should get no further calls after 24 hrs. from not (to allow for processing the number out of the system).  She was very polite, apologized, for the inconvenience, and wished me a nice day.  So, we'll see if that stops the calls...

They call me about once a week. They called me a year or so ago and told me that the police was going to show up at my home. This is on some debt that I owed back in the early 90s. The statue of limitations is up and they can get over it. I just don't answer the phone anymore. My credit is great, I have moved on. Just never agree to owe them money or pay them anything. If you do, the statue of limitations start all over again. They are scum, liars, act illegally and call when ever. I am surprised they still call me cause its been over a year since I have answered my home phone from a call I didnt know. You would think they would move on. Oh well, I did file against them with the attorney generals office.

These people call and make threats for a debt that isn't mine. They call my cell phone. I've told them I'm not the person they are looking for. One woman was literally screaming at me, saying, "When we find you, YOU are going to JAIL! DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME, MS. JONES (not my name)?? "

There must be some sort of law against this, it's ridiculous.  I installed a call blocker on my phone so that I don't see the calls, but they call from different #s.  I just keep blocking any # I don't recognize. It's sad we have to do that and maybe miss a call we want to take, because of creepy, weirdo companies like this.
