I bought a lawnmower in Sears this season. I liked the design and the sales guy was highly recommending it. So I was sold on it. When paying for the purchase I asked about their return policy on this item. They told me "no problem, just have your receipt when you return".

We used the lawnmower once and my husband didn't like the its power. So we did some research and decided to upgrade the lawnmower by buying a more powerful model.

When I came to Sears to return the item they told me that I will be charged a restocking fee. I told them that I was not made aware of the restocking fee when I was buying the product and asked about the return policy. They answered that I have their return policy on my receipt. Yes, indeed there was a restocking fee for lawnmowers.

I complained to the store manager that I was misinformed about the return policy on the lawnmower. He said he can't help me.

I decided not to return the lawnmower, but I will not shop at Sears again.
