866-794-2255 - Just received five (5) back-to-back calls from this number on my cell phone.
FIVE (5)? They must REALLY want to talk to me, right?

I missed the calls as my phone was in the bedroom, and alas,
they didn't even bother to leave any messages for me.

I have a very Simple Rule regarding Missed Calls:
If you can't be bothered to leave me even a short message,
then I can't be bothered to take the time to call you back.

The strange thing is, Caller ID showed different names each time.
Either they have their outgoing ID showing up differently on the various phones throughout
their call center (which would be VERY strange indeed, as this would require some actual work
to change these, plus they are probably using a PBX system, which uses the same info for
EVERY phone located there) OR someone is spoofing their name and number.

On their website, it clearly states that they are supposedly EXEMPT from
the DNC Registry laws (I'm not sure this is actually true or not), but that
they also DO in fact have a DNC list that they use if you ask to be put on it.
Since they are located in Canada, they are somewhat exempt from USA DNC Laws,
BUT... Canada has some pretty strict DNC laws as well:

    "Survey" companies are exempt under US DNC laws, along with charities and political calls.

    As you saw on their website, they generally provide a way to be removed from their call lists.  Try that.

    this is a legitimate company that goes out of their way to make people happy.  If they called you 5 times than it was an accident.  Most call centres use dialers now and the dialers make the error.  They will remove you if you ask them to and provide information for you to remove your number..if you call them and yell at them and hang up, they won't know who you are, so leave a phone number.

    I also just received a call from them except I answered the phone and said hello. I waited a second and said hello again, no response on the other end. I said it louder then asked if anyone was even there. I got no response so I hung up. I phoned the number back and got an automated message and then a beep. I left an extremely mad message telling them what I thought about their method of doing research and told them to take my name off ALL lists. I mean i don't mind doing some research surverys but when they phone you and then don't talk that just pisses me off whether they are legit or not.

      I worked there and the calling system is automated dialing. We have no control over when we can talk to the person. It isn't the person's fault, so relax.

    I am also on NO CALL list. ACROBAT Research called me and I let it go to VMail.
    "I charge $100 for a 3 minute or less survey. $200 for 3 minute and beyond."
    This is how I deal with all survey people even my cell/internet provider, Sprint and Go Daddy who I have donme biz with for 7 years.I tell them upfront I want the money deposited into my bank account first. Then there is usually silence because they cannot believe someone will not work for free for them, be used. Even my local Aldermaan/Ward staff called and wanted me to answer a short survey and I told her $50 up front for  5 questions. Stunned silence so I hung up. Stand up people.
    START ASKING FOR YOUR FEE.
    Don't fall for 'These surveys HELP..." Crock of ___. They just figure people are stupid enough to work for them for FREE.

      Charge them a Fee & require money first before answering any questions research or not.. If anyone wants research info, they should compensate one for their time, otherwise, Just don't call... Everyone is annoyed by political & research calls, on the stupidest crap most times... IF someone ask for it fine. Otherwise... have telemarketer give you their home phone numbers & you call them 5 times a day for research...   lol

    You're asking for hundreds of dollars for 10 minutes of your time? Do you realize how riduclous that sounds to the person on the phone?
    First off, they are only there because they have a family to support and the rate of unemployment is extremely high, and this may be their only option.
    Next, they are making less than $10 an hour. So by you asking for say $100 for a 10 minute survey they are only actually making less than a dollar and in the long run, they don't personally care about your opinion.

    The people you yell and scream at on the phone aren't the people who write the survey's, nor are they the people actually wanting your opinion. They are just plain jane people who are putting food on the table for their kids.

      They need to find another line of work.  Pestering the heck out of people who don't want the surveys or the calls is no way to make a living.  Heck, I'd pay them a little something to not call me.  I doubt any useful information comes out of these surveys anyway.  Looks like alot of non-responses and lies for pestering would bias the survey.  A legit surveyor will pay or get volunteers for a focus group of likely users.

      First, are you assuming our time is not valuable?  If someone calls my home and interrupts me with a bothersome survey, why shouldn't I be compensated?  I love the idea!!!

      Second, how do you know how much they make an hour?  Unemployment is high, but their problems should not be my problems.  McDonald's is always hiring and pays around $9-$10 an hour.  It's a legitimate job!

      And last, if they don't care about our opinions then why should we waste my time taking the survey?

      I worked there also and hated to call people and bug them but it was the only job in our small town it did help me pay my bills for awhile till they closed shop and moved on.Some people were so nasty made me feel so bad...wish there was a better way to get surveys done...should call people and ask them to call in if they would like to do a survey instead of bugging the crab out of them.

    i used to work for this company, [unfortunately] the people working are made to get a certain amount of surveys per hour or they get sent home early. and its not the people working who are dialing the number, its all done by computer automated somehow or something. To get them to not call, just simply ask them to take your name and number off the list, OR if they call by name just say that said person does not live there. but make sure you allow the person to go through their spiel first otherwise they dont take you off the list. [which taking off the list is actually putting you on a do not call list]

    it is bad enought to get one call but i get this all the time day and night from not one but a whole bunch of numbers 18654654017 19028001030 18667942255 19028649916 running out of room on my phones rejected list. i would like to know how they get my number. pissed off!
