bleach dispenser

Ever since our purchase of this machine, one thing I noticed is that there is always "product" in the bleach dispenser. sometimes, like for colored clothes, it's just water. but other times, after we have washed a load of whites, I notice that there is still bleach mixed with some water in the bleach dispenser.
Initially, we thought that it was just water left over from the flushing action of the machine while dispensing the bleach into the wash. However, after ruining several loads of colored clothes which we washed subsequent to washing a load of whites, investigation showed us that the bleach dispenser was not completely emptying during the wash cycle.
Short of taking the entire tray out and trying not to spill any on the way to the sink, there does not seem to be any way to be sure that bleach does not remain.
I did notice that sometimes, I can pull the tray out, lift the side that the bleach dispenser is on and a siphoning action will occur which will effective drain the reservoir. Of course this leaves some residue of bleach in the reservoir which could bleach non-white clothes.
I have read all of the post regarding "clogging" and I can assure that there are NO CLOGS, either in the dispenser or the drain lines from the dispenser to the machine.
I sure would like to figure this out.
