"prompt" repair service turns out to be 12 days

Direct TV for my dad, baseball lover, also mlb extra innings. The system isnt talking to the reciever, did trouble shooting, called tech, nothing,  seems the prompt service he was promised is 12 freaking days. Its unacceptable, we were told that would never happen, a couple days at most.
