Factory Warranty Auto calls to my personal Cell Phone

I continue to get calls from this bogus company. They are costing me cell phone minutes. They use a different number everytime they call and when I ask them to take me off their call list they simply hang up and eventually get another call. This is harrasment and these folks should be found and severly fined-- if not imprisoned. From what I have read on line this is a bogus business trying to obtain credit card phone numbers. Something has to be done about this. Please help.

They are trying to get credit card or bank account information so they can run through charges of hundreds to several thousand dollars. There are also reports that when consumers try to submit claims, they are routinely rejected, so any unknown caller offering anything should be treated as if they are running a scam, particularly if they are violating the law by calling in violation of the Do Not Call list or by autodialing cell phones.
If they continue to run up your cell phone charges, file complaints with FTC and your state AG. You may also need to change your cell phone number. although they may just be dialing blocks of phone numbers instead of from actual lists.

Their advertising misrepresents that your "warranty" is about to expire even though they have no idea whether you even have a car. These types of scams also often attempt to appear like they are associated with either your dealer or the manufacturer, again to try to panic people into buying their "product". Given these acts of misrepresentation and deception, you cannot trust that their "warranty" has any value, since no policy is any better than the company that stands behind it.
It comes as no surprise that they would attempt to panic you into authorizing charges for their "warranty", attempting to take advantage of you handling your father's affairs while he was dealing with medical treatment. To a con artist, any opening that creates uncertainty may be exploited to advance the fraud.
The key thing to keep in mind is do not do business with anyone just because they call you, and do not disclose your account information (or any other information) to unknown strangers who call you on the phone.
If you don't know who they are, it is best to just hang up. If you think they might actually be calling from a company you actually do business with, such as your bank, it is best to call back at a phone number you obtain from your own account documents (your statements or the back of your credit card). You cannot even trust caller id information as reliable verification of who is calling you, since that can be spoofed (falsified).
If they don't have your credit card or bank account information, they can't take your money. If they do have it, you had better notify your bank to close the account to block possible fraud.
Also note that once they sense that they might succeed at pressuring you to disclose account information, they might continue to call in attempting to do just that. It is best to not even respond to their calls, until they cease calling.
