Probably phishing for phony warranty victims
Complaint
Bryan
Country: United States
Received call from 702 520-1368 (to me in 760) pretending my warranty is about to expire, but they had no info about me, no name, trying to get my info on whatever car I had between 1995 and 2007. I have multiple and they refused when I asked "who is this?" or which vehicle they were calling about. Sounds like phishing scam. I called back the number and it does offer to remove you from the list (but could be another scam to just verify you as a live wire). I get calls like this every several weeks, and want to make the scammer as uncomfortable as possible. So I said "which car"? etc. and got nowhere until they got huffy and said to call them back when I know, yeah, and their callback number is a recording that takes you to the same place as the unsolicited call, remove, or talk to telemarketer. Any way to get the phone company or NV Chamber of Commerce to trace these guys and shut them down?

Only name reported is "Paging Phone", which may be a call center in NV.
No name reported for the alleged "warranty company".

There are a number of active deceptive "warranty renewal" operations going, including 2 in Missouri (one was recently sued by the Missouri Attorney General, and 1 or 2 more on the east coast (maybe NJ, FL, possibly GA).
Nevada has long been a hotbed for telemarketing scams. Check with Las Vegas NV BBB. They probably have a file on them, and may be able to search by phone number.
If you are on the Do Not Call list, report them to FTC and NV AG. If you are not, get on it.
You only need the phone number they are calling from to report them.
How can this be stopped?!
