Complaint

The Managing Director
Sony India
Sir,
Please refer to my numerous complaints registered with the customer care helpline (Comp No. 7158772 , 23.03.2011) and several mails (ref no. 7183021 and 7158774) and letters sent to your good office in respect of the malfunctions (Hazy/ Blurred picture and non uniform distribution of the backlight over the surface area of the panel) exhibited by the TV set (40EX720) I purchased from Sabharwal Electronics Dwarka Delhi.
After a tiresome perusal An engineer Mr. Tikkoo visited my premises on 27/03/2011 to examine the TV set and explicitly agreed to my complaints that the back light intensity on the panel is highly heterogeneous owing to which the picture quality is very poor, smoky and hazy in patches. He asked me to request the company to provide refund as this particular model of TV is newly launched with new circuitry and all TV sets of this model are governed by these facts, hence replacing the TV would not solve the problem. He asked me to provide the photocopy of the invoice and the warrantee card which I did with alacrity.
May I mention here that in no case I am interested to get the refund as I needed a good TV for entertainment? However, the pathetic picture quality of the TV I bought for Rs. 83000/- frustrates me and my family members and I repent on my decision of buying a Sony TV. Furthermore the boorish attitude of the service department of Sony India has aggravated my miseries.
Today (04/04/2011) I called the customer care (18001037799) twice to again remind your subordinate officials, the desperate predicament I am in after having purchased a faulty TV for Rs. 83000/-. As usual I was assured that a senior would call me but all in vain and I was once again befooled.
Sir, now I am extremely worried “lest I should lose my hard earned money”, I therefore again request you to intervene to help me get rid off the harassment I am facing.
With warm regaeds
Yours sincerely

Comments
I have purchased a sony TV NX 720 40 inch 2 months back, after purchasing we found that
there was severe flashlighting with the tv and we reported it,
service person came 3 times but didnot take any action.
For the past 2 months, I called almost 50 times to different persons including customer service numbers at Delhi and Bangalore
I was transferred to different numbers and told that the customer service will call after sometime, but I
never received any calls and have to pursue it repeatedly.
Please let me know why I am being made a fool of, is it because I purchased the sony TV.
I have purchased many products of Sony previously and thought that Sony is a good brand with normal customer service
But I am shocked to know that Sony has sold me defective product and no action is being taken because of worst customer service.
My complaint id is 8188451 and got another complaint no : 8800367
