My dad asked me for help with the high price he was paying for satellite service with Direct TV.  He is 90 years old and does not have internet service so I told him I would try to find a better deal for him.  I contacted Dishnetwork and the representative told me I could set up service in my name and then just call in and have the account switched into my dads name.  I did everything in a chat and saved the printed chat.  When I called in to make the change they took the info and said it was going to done.  I asked if the monthly bill would remain the same and was told that this was a new contract and the promotion does not apply!  The new price would be about $20 a month more and did not include the other promotions like free HBO etc.  Of course I cancelled to change and now I am contemplating legal action.  I hate it when I am lied to!
