DIRECTV BLOWS CHUNKS!!!
We called AT&T and requested a one-year contract on their Uverse TV. AT&T, which now apparently owns DirecTV, connected us to their service, even though they knew we were right on the edge of their reception area in our location. After about 11 service calls and numerous re-wirings and attachments, they finally admitted we were out of range. They offered to hook us up with their new acquisition, DirecTV instead of AT&T Uverse. I went to the local AT&T office, explained to the agent what the problem was and what had been offered. The agent got on the phone and then handed me the phone. The DirecTV agent on the phone set up an appointment for hook-up. My understanding was that it was to be the same one-year contract we had with AT&T. Turns out I was slammed into a two-year contract without my knowledge or consent. The installer set up the dish and other equipment and had me sign his form acknowledging the install and left. I now find that we were signed up for a two-year contract. To top everything off, the channel guide they furnished us does not cross reference with your normal local channels, and you have to scan through tons of channels to find anything to watch; most of which seem to be Spanish language and on-line sales channels or pay-per-view channels.
