These people called my mother's brand new home phone number and asked for my husband. They told her that this was a number that he'd given them to contact him. That would be impossible seeing as we don't have any accounts with them, have no outstanding loans, and HE'S IN CHINA!

There is no way for anyone to have connected our families by the phone numbers and especially one that was issued only days ago.

When I called the number that "Damon" left with my mother, and I asked him why he called for my husband on my mother's new phone number, he asked me for the phone number that he called. After I refused to give him the number and asked HIM for the number he called, he told me thank you for calling and hung up the phone.

I did call the number back to let them know that I would be reporting them for harrassment.

They were caught holding the bag today. And it felt great!

They have a high rate of complaints for contacting the wrong people attempting to collect on an alleged debt, and for engaging in abuse and harassment even though they have called the wrong person.

File complaints with FTC and your state Attorney General, and contact the Minnesota Attorney Geneeral, since they should have a thick file of similar complaints.

I just received a telephone call from Northland Group, re: an account for my daughter.  Unfortunately, for everyone, she died March 12, 2008.  He said he would give the information to his supervisor.  This is the second call I have received since she died.

I am sorry for your loss.

Whether or not there is any estate to deal with, you may want to notify the credit reporting agencies, Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion, that she has died.  This will block the potential for someone opening accounts in her name through identity theft, since it will put on notice to anyone who pulls her credit reports that she has died.  This may help reduce problems in convincing creditors and collection agencies of her death, since they will probably contact you if they can't reach her.

If you are harassed by this company, contact the Minnesota Attorney General.

I came back from visiting my grandchildren to find a letter in my mail stating that I owe them an amount of 704.50 for a Fingerhut purchase which I have never made and they would be willing to settle for a lesser amount of 246.60 which I also have no intention of paying for some fictitious products I never received. They have my address correct but all the other information is wrong. I have never made any purchases through Fingerhut. How can these people keep harassing folk and getting away with it and be sanction through the Better Business Bureau?
