The company (phone number above) called, even though we are on the Do Not Call list, and said our warranty is soon to expire on our car. We have old cars. I waited and pressed 1 for an agent and told him this and that they were breaking the law by calling. The man got quite angry with me and argued that we should get a warranty anyway. When I said that this call would be reported he got madder and then hung up.

I had a similar phone call from a guy named Justin who claimed his extension is 306.  Right away I asked him the company name and he tried to deflect the question.  Once I pressed he hung up.  I tried calling the number back right away but got a message saying the number is disconnected.   Reverse lookup claims the number belongs to a company named QWEST.  I researched the company to find that it's an internet provider.  Once contacted the company (qwest) told me that the number is not in service.  I'm assuming the company that called from the number is a scam and bouncing their signal from one number to another ghosting their tracks.
Not being one to drop things so easily I am pursuing this further.  Updates would be appreciated by anyone who has additional info!

I am tired of the calls that are coming from this and other numbers just like it. They also use cell phone numbers. Why aren't they being prosecuted and/or fined for making these calls to those who are on the "Do Not Call List".

Here is one way to fight back. Call their 800 number from a land line (not your cell unless you have unlimited minutes!). Turn on your television, preferably to a sleazy shopping network, set your phone on speaker phone in front of the TV and leave it for as long as their computer will allow you to record a message. Repeat as necessary. I have cost them several hours of long distance charges and will continue until I feel better. FYI, for Automotive Warrantee Solutions of Boca Raton FL, the number is 800-376-5644.
I have also treated them to several hours of Sunday morning religious programming.

One time I pressed one and when the rep got on I asked him what kind of car I owned. He didn't know so I asked him how on earth he would know if my warranty was to expire or not, he hung up and since then I really don't get to many of those calls.

The same people have called my work which is a government phone and because of that I think the government is looking into it which might also explain why I have not received those calls to much anymore.
