Washing Machine Tears Contents of Tub
Complaint

I owned a Whirlpool Duet for over ten years. When it quit working and our repairman said it would cost more to repair it than to purchase a new machine, my curious husband tore it apart to see what happened. The metal brackets holding the tub in place had completely deteriorated. It was like acid had eaten them. Having been very happy with the original, I purchased another Whirlpool Duet several months ago. I first noticed a bath towel had two rips. Then today, I washed several small bath rugs in it. The washer removed half of the binding from one of the rugs. I can only assume it got caught between the gasket and the tub causing the horrific tear. Has anyone received any satisfaction from Whirlpool? I am going to their site next to make a complaint.
