Lets forget that they charge me for 4g and only provide 3g.  They now tell me that my contract will be long expired before 4g hits my area.  They have been down for long durations 4 times that I'm aware of in 2011 and uncountable short durations.  Today is the fourth of January2012 and we have been offline probably 15 times.  One cannot continue online business with them under these circumstances.  Their questionable reps always go for the same tactic when they're down.  Delete the software and reinstall, now download the updates.  No, Verizons down and thats impossible.  Oh.  Lets try this, and that, and this.  After half an hour they give up send send me to the next tier of tech support which is not there and will call me back between now and Armageddon whichever is later.  I hang up and call back half an hour later and get a prerecorded message telling me Verizon is experiencing problems in my area and we "apologize for the inconvenience."  Days later the higher tier rep calls me back and I have to inform him it was back online days ago. Worse yet some techs will tell you your modem is defective and must be replaced.  They send you a new one and you package up the old one and send it back.  They then try to charge you hundreds for the old one that they claim they didn't receive.  Unfortunately for them Fed X keeps signature records and when Verizon is presented with that they back off on their tactic.  You are then presented with a penalty fee because you did not pay their modem scam on time.  They eventually will back off because you have been such a "good customer in the past".  I also have AT&T and the past 2 years and tho there have been minor equipment snafus that they really don't fix, at least they try and are up front about it.
