poor membership services

I have been a member here for 3 months. White it is a nice facility, the service is poor. There is a huge difference between the service I received at equinox and the way I was treated here. I had an accident here and broke my ankle while playing soccer, but unfortunately received minimal attention. The club did not have ice and seemed like no one was trained in handling any emergencies. I was helped by strangers that were playing soccer with me, and not any one from mgmt/admin was even present. In addition, for 3 months I have been trying to cancel my membership to no avail. Not only I called many times without anyone getting back to me, they claim that also my written cancelation was never received. I do not live in IL anymore, but they keep me asking me to come to the facility proving lack of attention to details from membership mgr. my address clearly indicates that I live in Philly and I have previously faxed my medical documents from Philly to freeze my membership. It is extremely frustrating that I spent 3 months trying to cancel my membership. I have offered again to fax copy of my cancellation letter, but they said it will not count. It amazes me how the club is happy to accept a signed membership application over a fax, accept a request to freeze membership over a fax, but they will not cancel your membership over a fax. They are either trying to enforce postage usage, the art of writing letters or deceivingly making it hard to cancel in order to rack up the extra fees. I do not know of any other club that insist on the same; these days you could cancel your bank account, investment account online or over the phone, and even your job, but this club mgmt decided that that process has to be difficult enough to discourage me from exercising my right of cancelation. If a manager is not diligent enough to return client phone calls, I trust they are not diligent is opening their mail either or even losing it. I request to have a phone call with Regional manager to understand the poor membership mgmt practices at this club
