    Not my bill
WE today just received a bill from this fraudulant company for an AT&T bill that was supposedly not paid. Problem is we NEVER had AT&T EVER. We will not pay it and I am sure they will send out more bills claiming we owe them something but off to the shredder it goes. I will send them back their letter without postage, hopefully they pay it, with a letter that states that we owe them nothing!!!

Better to save all communications as evidence, and sue them when they cross the line.
Otherwise you let them take free pot-shots at your credit and get away with it.

They depend on this response from consumers who don't know their rights to "chicken bill" lots of people with no real basis to believe they owe these old "debts".

Send a letter disputing the alleged debt, mailed certified.

If they continue to harass you without sending any proof you owe this alleged debt, file complaints with FTC and your state AG, and contact an attorney to discuss suing them for violations of FDCPA.  You can find a consumer attorney in your state through www.naca.net

    AFNI is fraudulent
I had a prepaid phone through tmobile about 5 years ago.....PREPAID, I had no monthly bill, no contract NOTHING...when my phone ran out of time I would put more time on it through their website. Easy, easy....right! Well, I thought so until about 6 months ago. AFNI has a $400 item on my credit report for an ETF (Early Termination Fee) This appeared about 6 months ago. I have been fighting with these fools because there is no ETF for tmobiles prepaid phone. The first gentlemen I spoke with at AFNI was very nice, he never tried to get me to pay, he provided me with Tmobiles contact information. I called Tmobile they said I have NEVER owed them money and in fact asked if I would like to ass money to my pre pad phone. At this point I am thinking this will just go away. So I call AFNI back and request proof of the debt. These jerks sent me the most lame invoice I have ever seen in my life.
Today my plan is to file complaints with anyone and everyone that I can. The invoice they sent me mentions nothing about an ETF, it has two sets of monthly charges that mysteriously add up to $400. I am at a loss. Has anyone else had this sort of experience with them?
