Pay Day Loan Fraud
Complaint
Curt Erickson
Country: United States
I got called today from this supposed law firm saying that I owed money on a payday loan. I said that I did not. Granted I have gotten a payday loan before I new that I had paid it off. So I called my wife and she checked with the payday loan that we had done a long time ago to make sure that we did pay it off and we did. We were told by them that this was a scam and not to talk to them anymore. This law firm threatened us telling me that I was committing fraud and I was going to have criminal charges filed against me. So my wife contacted the Federal Trade Commission to file a complaint against this firm. They also verified that this was a scam. She gave them all the information and asked the Federal Trade Commission if this was idenity theft or fraud. They said that is was fraud and to get a hold of one of the three credit bureaus and file fraud alert on your credit report, this will help to stop them from getting into your file. This is very scary. So I guess if this does happen to you contact the Federal Trade Commission and also put a fraud alert on your credit report. You can find their contacts on the internet. If you look up ACLS law firm you will find the complaints that have been filed against them and what is happening to people that are having the same thing happen to them. We need to help each other out so they can these scam artists. Most importantly though make sure that you dont give them any information. Check it out first, dont just pay whatever to whoever. I learned a lesson from this. I will make sure things are legite before I do anymore paying over the phone on anything. Hope this helps and good luck. Hopefully someone will catch these [***]. Sorry for the bad language, but they are screwing with people's lives.

They can't do any of the things they threaten.
All they can do is harass you.
If they indicated how they wanted you to send them money, please intidate.
Did they request payment by:
1) Western Union
2) Moneygram
3) credit card number
4) checking account number
5) prepaid debit card
6) Other?
Now a pay day loan company Tade Day Loan in Washington, DC wants me to go to Western Union and wire them a $150 and wait for them to wire me back $1500. I told them I was not stupid and never call me again.
