I just received the same email and I am trying to find out who I need to contact to report this. Having ALL my personal info is an invasion of my privacy and he needs to be stopped.

Same email received today. I actually received a phone call saying the same thing about two years ago. Not really worried, just a scam
1) Contact by email, often using free gmail, outlook, or similar accounts. Emails are often similar to those reported in other complaints, often down to the exact same amount "owed". 2) Stilted "English" suggests the source is overseas. 3) Names typically chosen to sound "American". (They're probably in India, Pakistan, or similar) 4) Typically throw in a bunch of what they think is "legal sounding" BS, to sound threatening. 5) Use your identity information as some sort of "proof" of some "debt" or "payday loan" you never made. "Lender" is allegedly some payday lender they could find on the net. 6) If you respond, you might be targeted with harassing and threatening phone calls.

I just received an email from from the Ferderal Debt Collection Department says I owe $750.00 and the settlement amount is $500.00. It looks real. They have every information on there(my social security, my employer, my driver license number, my bank account and routing number, and even my home address.) says I'll be arrested if I don't contact/pay whoever sued me back and if I have questions to contact Jonathan McNichols...
It's not real !!! I got the same exact email ! They won't arrest you by email ...it would be a civil lawsuit ..not an arrest warrant ..its a scare to make you pay the $500...don't do it ! Look up your name on your local police dept and county ...I'm sure you won't find anything ...just another way to scam money ...my email...my husband was suppose to be arrested on a warrant 3 days ago...lol...because I didn't send 500.00 by special credit card they only accept...lol...or they would garnish wages ...oh..ok...lol...don't worry about it...it's a scam

I got the same exact message by email but all I'm told is contact the person you owe money too. Not our name, address ,phone, ss or DL...just a case number assumed by the courts and a warrant record, no warrant record because I checked our names ...it's 750.00 or they will take 500.00...get a prepaid visa card to pay it and email him back when you want to pay it ..lol...yeah...ok...like that's not a scam ...you Google his name and and all the fraud and scams show up...never ever send money unless you have a Bill in hand and a phone number..if you think,you have a warrant check your local police dept or your county site ...kinda funny he mentions 750.00 to everyone and then will take 500.00...lol...such a scam ...I hope no one falls for this !!!

I just got this same email from Johnathon McNichols saying I was going to be arrested and wages garnished if I didn't settle the debt today by sending $500.via money gram, western Union or pee paid cards. You can file a complaint with the federal trade commission of the united states and they will investigate.

It is illegal for a debt collector to threaten you in any way. This is a scam. They seem to think that by including the logo for Treasury Federal Management Service that it makes them more believable, but that is not the case. File the complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and be sure to include the email with your complaint.
