Beware that Dillards' 3 day return policy is really a 2 day policy.  I bought a dress late on Mar 16, and returned it on Mar 19, after my daughter found a different one she preferred.  This was 3 days later by everyone's standards, but they refused.  The computer had it already out of their system by that 3rd day. Every Dillards' salesperson and manager I spoke with were all in agreement, and were very trained to say, that the first day was the day I bought it.  But this was after I was trying to return it, and with no sympathy expressed.  No one bothered to point that out when I bought it.  The salesperson was super friendly and chatty otherwise and definitely had time to warn me on that.  I was so surprised, and frankly inconvenienced,  by the 3 day return policy to begin with.  I had never experienced that from a normal department store.  But being told (when it was too late) that their 3 day policy was really a 2 day, was frustrating.  Just say 2 day on the receipt next time.  Or post a return-by date at the bottom of receipt so everyone is fairly warned.

    I have to say I am VERY SURPRISED that there even IS such a thing as a 3 day policy of return!  Obviously this has been around for many years, since it is now 2019 and you posted this in 2015!!  I am very shocked by Dillard's policy and even more surprised that I have never heard of this before now.  This will definitely make me think twice about where I spend my money.

    Dillard’s is awful. As bad as they are as a store, they are worse as corporate citizens in Little Rock (their HQ). Greedy, selfish, and bad customer service. That’s why I shop at Belk.

    Awful,who even knew someone could have a 3 day return policy! I had glasses a week. Tried to return them they said nope! And were rude about it. Lake Wales Dillard’s!!!! Buyers beware!

    Dillards return policy is the worst among all the department stores I have ever shopped at!! They will not accept returns after 3 days on sale items and they do not mention about their policy when you are buying those items!! When I asked them why didn't you mention this? My answer was: Oh... everybody knows about Dillards policies!!! Their managers are also rude and not helpful.

    The receipt should say “ 3 day return limit starting day of purchase”. Why make it confusing to the shopper? Also you don’t know it’s a 3 day return until you check out.
