After having my house damaged two seperat times by Direct Stat here in Pittsburgh, PA which is the installers for Direct TV.  They had damaged my house on two seperate occasions.  The first damage claim was settled and the second I was told that the first will cover the second seperate incident.  There were two seperate contractors fixing the two seperate damages at two different days.  1st was 800.00  paid by Direct TV insurance company.  The second of 900.00 I am being told too bad and thank you for paying for the damages we caused.  No luck with the office of the President 310-964-5000 and if you need it the VP's name is Larry Hunter.  So in general go with Dish or even rabbit ears   anything to save yourself the aggrivations of dealing with you incompentcy of Direct TV and their customer service who will not help you or the Sub Contractors that have no real idea as to how to do their jobs.

They came and installed satellites on my roof but did not ask the homeowner (me) where I wanted them and they put them on the FRONT of my house and I called and complained so they came back out and they had to leave the plates on the roof because the holes they drilled are so large. Now I have to have someone come and repair my roof.

The mistake they made was installing the satellites on your roof, instead of satellite dishes. The satellites should be orbiting above the earth in space. A very expensive mistake, indeed.

Direct TV has no proper insurance for the subcontractors that do the installation work for them.  The roof of my apartment and the celling of the bedroom were damaged as a result of the dish put by my neighbor downstairs.  We filed a claim only to get a response that just inside damage done to the celling would be covered.  They refused to cover ouside damage (holes they made on the roof that caused the leak) since they consider it bo be done by the worker directly, not ensuing damage.  Their insurance doesn't cover for that type of damage.  That's total absurd!!!  I would not recommed anyone to with Direct TV. I am going to the court to file a legal claim against them.

satelite on my roof started to leak after i canceled there services, instead of having one of there incompatant workers come and try to fix it i did it my self to save my self the agravation. So much for that! Now they are trying to collect money for movies i shouldn't of been able to watch, so now i have to file a damage report because i refuse to pay the 58 dollars. So i want someone With a brain to get this message and wave the fee or i will send the pictures of the damages to my lawer and Direct TV will be reduing my roof. What is 58 dollars to a company like this, what is more cost affective?

Most people don't have a clue how to get what they want in a situation like the one you've discribed.  As a retired consumer affairs writer for the LA Times, I was able to get Direct TV to pay me several hundred dollars for the damage they did to my home.

If you want to be taken seriously and reach "someone with a brain" you need to have your complaint and accompanying documents written up for you by someone who can spell (clearly that's not you) and create a document that will make you look, at least on paper, like someone they can respect.

That's the secret.  Someone who can write a compelling and excellent letter.  If you don't know anyone, ask in the English or Journalism department of your nearest University, where a student there would be happy to make a few bucks helping you out.

The secret is to remain calm and not demand unreasonable amounts of money.  A brief, direct letter with a reasonable and substantiated demand. Don't do it yourself!  You're angry and your spelling dooms you not to be taken seriously.  Don't rant online -- rant where it makes the most sense.  Look up the Executive Staff of Direct TV and write to the Community Outreach or Public Affairs director and send the letter registered and you'll get a response if you keep the insulting suppositions about their mental capacities out of it.

Good luck.  This is the advice you need, whether you like it or not.

Hi Belle - Just a quick note, when you publicly berate someone on the internet regarding their misspelling of a word or two - be extra careful not to misspell DESCRIBE when you do so.......
      I'm embarrassed for you!

I rent a room in my home to a man and he wanted direct tv installed in his room even though I give free basic cable with the rent. I agreed to let him have it installed but did tell him I didn't want any dish attached to my house.

I came home to find the installer had placed the dish on a pole , normally not a problem but the pole was in my driveway. I told the installer he would have to move the pole and he got down right nasty with me.

I had to put it in plain english for him , well he decided not to install it for the renter. This is where the problem comes in , the installer removed all the equipment and left in a huff. Today the next day mind you , we had a bad lightning storm. My cable modem , router and computer got struck and are now ruined. I went out side and found that the installer had connected his ground to the grounding strap of my cable and when he removed his ground wire he left mine unhooked causing all this damage.

I have not called Direct TV yet but will update in the morning.

DON"T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH DIGITAL TV !!!!! THEY DON"T CARE AND ARE OUT FOR YOUR MONEY ONLY!!!

they have stood me up on multiple occasions to install causing me much money from work waiting on them and even tele operators said they are on their way yet never arrived until days later... and when they finanly arrived days later... because i live in the mountains and with the trees couldn't get a satelite connection. therefore they set up an illegal pole stem device to get reception.. something dish network refused to do because it's against insurance policies. i tried dish first. they addmitted it's illegal while digital installed.
since then i could take 30 mins in writing all basic details of the problems i've had yet it's been about 5 hours on the phone.... yet NOTHING gets resolved!!!!!! <<<<<<<<<<<<<< NOTHING!!!!!. This is is the biggest and only SCAM company i have ever dealt with in my over 40 years of life.

Living in the mountains i get no tv stations and only option was through direct tv to do it illegaly... they are scums of the earth... frauds on EVERY account. charged me for things i had no business with and plenty more.... yet they promise phone calls back for people who can situate and solve situations.... yet they never freaking call. i have spent countless hours trying to resolve issues... they are full of lies and i never get a call returned nor directed to the right people to speak with! they seem to have temp first day type people answering phones.

DO NOT USE DIRECT TV!!!!!!!! <<<<<<<<<<<<<< you'll be glad to take the advice. i have heard of many troubles from friends in past but didn't ask why. i wouldn't of used them and kept reg tv or cable but no reception out here for anything but illegal set up and they are compulsive liers and thieves on every walk of measure... our end and their.

I would agree with the poster that said don't get angry.  Be patient, look for a loophole in the system and exploit it.  I got 3 months service free because they pissed me off.  Won't go into what I did, but it was petty.  I don't like bullies. :)

I cancel my DirectTV service and ask them to remove the dish, poles and cable on the roof.  The guy only remove the dishes but not the two poles nor the cables that run from the poles.  Now two of the cables are loose and drape over the gutters.  Called Direct TV and ask them to remove them.  Said no longer customer with Direct TV, cannot help me!

This happened to my mom just yesterday. She had D TV installed last week and for some reason they yanked it out (on a newly installed roof) and put it in another place. A bad storm blew in and water started pouring into her bedroom.  We had to pay the roofer several hundred dollars for the roof repair. We haven't repaired the ceiling yet, but I'm calling them today to find out what they plan on doing about this.
