St. Jude

Kay Jewelers does have a large wing inside St. Jude's.  Or so I have been told by my former manager. During the holidays, our job is to sell, sell, sell on behalf of St. Jude stuffed animals.  I listened to the store Mgr. convincingly tell customers how HE packs up his Toyota SUV and makes several trips to the hospitals to drop off all of the stuffed animals our store sells.  Naturally part of my job is to sell you jewelry, open  a charge card and of course get you to buy a stuffed animal on behalf of St. Jude's. It is a scam!!  We are having a contest with other stores in our district to see who can sell the most stuffed animals. Yes  the Mgr. gets rewarded for this. A couple of days before the end of the holiday season, the store Mgr. in talking to a customer who said she is a nurse.....turns out he gave her boxes and boxes of the stuffed animals and on her word was going to bring them to the hospital she works at.  Wait a minute here, I thought that is what the store manager was bragging that he does.  I do know that hospitals do not take UNPACKED anything to give to sick children in the hospital.  So as a customer you are purchasing a St. Jude's stuffed animal that the Mgr. of the store gives away to anyone who claims they work in the medical field. Your hard earned dollars are NOT going to the actual charity (you don't get a receipt to declare a donation on your taxes).Who ever this alleged nurse was walked off with 4 boxes of stuffed animals for free. I guess Kay Jewelers and the store Mgr. made her holiday shopping a breeze...and free.
