Phone call scam...I believe.

An Eric Wilson from the "Federal Investigation Dept." claims to have access to a legal case that's been filed against my name. Supposedly, my social and physical addresses are under federal investigation....What? I have instructions to return the call at 240-200-9757 OR ELSE, legal action will begin. Big problem tho', I haven't done anything!!!
Has anyone else received a call from this person, at that number? I looked up the number and read a few posts about this being a scam.
I became suspicious because I know that Federal agencies do not call people and leave "detailed" messages regarding an "offense" on one's voicemail. If anything, they contact you via UPS or a certified letter through the USPS.
If anyone has had a similar experience pls. share...thx

    Yes, so I. Absolutely the same message about the investigation and further legal actions. I thinking about to call to that piece of sheet back to take a piss on him a little, just waiting for being in a really bad mood!

    I received the same call i was on the phone with him for almost two hours negotiating how i would get the money to him ASAP! He threatened that he would have me arrested in a matter of 30 minutes if i didn't give him 8 thousand dollars! My husband called the police , police showed up at my house and took the call, and this "erick wilson" told police i had crack cocaine! Wow horrible horrible experience!!!

    They used to call me and pretend they are the IRS. They changed strategies I guess, but the female voice is the same.  If you try to call back you'll see the number does not exist as these calls are generated from outside the US.

    Yup, I got the same phone call... just reported it to the FTC and Inspector General.  The lady who called me was "Donna Jackson."  I called back and she threatened to send the police to have me arrested.  I told her to please send the police and she hung up on me.  A week later, the phone number is a disconnected Magic Jack number.
