SCAM Financial TEXT Messages - Beware!

888-691-3145 - Received yet ANOTHER Scam Text Message supposedly from JEFFERSON FINANCIAL, stating "MSG:JEFFERSON FINANCIAL - Notice. Unusual activity - Call us now at 1-(888) 691-3145". I do NOT have an account with them, so I know it's a SCAM! This time the text message came from 1010100002 - instead of 1010100001, and the number listed to call is 888-691-3145, instead of 312-238-9403 like last time. I WILL be reporting this number and text message to AT&T, the FTC, and Jefferson Financial as well.

    This has been going on for some time, randomly targetting phone numbers via text messaging hoping to fool customers of various banks and credit unions into disclosing account and identity information so they can drain your account.

    Jefferson Fionancial Credit Union has a warning here, although it primarily addresses email phishing.

    Today I received a text message via cellular phone. Stating there was a problem with my "JPEFCU" account and to call 1-877-801-7483. I am sure this
    is a phising scam.I wanted to report.

    I got a call today and it said my Visa card was temporaly suspened. They wanted to know my card number ,the date it expired and  they wanted to know my code to put in four my accout to draw my money out.  Could tell me if this was a scam or if you all called me . It came up as anonymou phone number. Please let me know so I can close this accout or let me know what to do. My phone number is 504-615-2676 or home 985-652-8709.

    These guys are full of fraud take your money elsewhere! Customer service sucks! They can't tell you basic information about the fraud on your account.

    got a check drawn on JF for $3650 as payment to purchase and weekly pay from  astrid galleries. This appears to be some sort of fraud turning over to FBI as all of you should.  This is a federal vioplation

    Got a call from Jefferson financial 415 504 1835 asking me to verify my address and social security number. Told them I have no idea who they are and they said they are verifying information for my Verizon account. I told them I don't have a Verizon account. Reported it to Verizon but they said they couldn't do anything about it. Not sure who else to report it to.
