wireless caller shows local phone number 602 903 2341 but plays recorded message.. "this is Diversified collection-- ... then gives callback number 800 771 5361.. just a generic recording..not asking for anyone in particular..  but they use multiple local numbers and message is always the same.. sometimes immediately after receiving the call, they will use a toll free number so sick and tired of this..

    They have complaints of abusive and harassing collections, and one attempting to collect on an "account" opened through fraud,   Complaints indicate they may violate FDCPA through attempting to collection through harassment and deception from the wrong consumers.

    Florida requires collection agencies to be licensed.  If you have problems with them, file complaints with FTC, your state AG, and the Florida Attorney General.   In particular, be sure to report attempts at collection of unowed "debt", and use of illegal harassment, threats, or deception.

    You can sue for violations of FDCPA, and it appears they exist enough to find and sue.  You can find consumer attorneys in your state through www.naca.net

    Apparently, according to one post, they will only take a money order - a financial instrument the integrity of which is guarded by the Secret Service.

    Also, check with your local Attorney General to find out if they are even licensed to practice business in your state-yes, if they are calling you, they are doing business in your state no matter which state they happened to be in.
