Timeshares

People who buy timeshares are pretty much brainwashed anyway. I unfortunately was one of them. Let me explain. Timeshares are not like houses, land, boats, or cars. They have zero intrinsic value. They can't really be marketed and sold on TV and the web. These other things I mentioned can often sell themselves. The value of a timeshare very much is tied to the picture a sales person paints in your mind. That is why they are smooth talking, friendly to a fault, and charismatic. They are often predatory out of necessity. They care only about profits, advancement, commissions, and recognition. For this reason, they appeal to a customers ego, greed, and naivete. Let me tell you the truth. Anything you buy is worth only what another person would be willing to pay you to get it. Timeshares across the board will sell for only 20-40 percent of what you paid retail and that is optimistic. Already you are loosing massively off the bat. Bluegreen has the highest fees in the industry on top of that. They also have a great number of complaints filed with the BBB and Consumer Affairs groups. They cannot be accredited by these organizations. Now I will say that the company is now moving in a positive direction to resolve consumer complaints. They recently made positive contact with me. We will wait and see if this is a new and positive trend. My advice generally is to be very cautious of timeshares unless you have money to burn.
