data roaming text alerts

Before I left for my honeymoon I purchased a data plan for traveling abroad on September 17th. A Rogers wireless customer service agent (named Judinea) sold me 4mb of data and told me that if I went over this amount of data while away Rogers would send me a text message alert and at that point I could purchase more data if I wanted or choose not to use data anymore. During my trip I did not receive any text message that I went over my purchased amount of data so I assumed I had not. Upon returning I discovered I had a 700$ bill!!! I was tossed around to different sympathetic customer service reps that said they could do nothing and I had to wait 72 hours for a call back from a manager. The manager called me at 830pm on a friday night and the manager Andy said it was my fault for not keeping track of my own data and that is was a case of "he said, she said" between me and the agent who told me text message alerts were included. He would not ask the agent anything, he would not listen to the call where I was given the information because "they don't find and listen to calls for such matters" so why are our calls recored for quality assurance?! and when I wanted him to explain why to me he said there was nothing they could do and we were not going to talk about this anymore. I wish I wasn't in a stupid 3 year contract with this horrible company.

    Hi Juli, I'm sorry to hear about this. Can you reach out to us on Facebook.com/Rogers or on Twitter @RogersHelps so we can look into this for you? We'll need to talk there as I can't speak to you privately through this site to get account info.

    Thanks!
    @Rogers_Chris
