Unsolicited Phone Calls from Ace Renting

Complaint

I would like to register a complaint about Ace Renting (www.acerenting.com). I am a landlord, and published an ad in the local newspaper and on Craigslist. This company "specializes in database management" (according to one of their support reps) and probably got my phone number from the newspaper ad.

My cell phone number is registered on the National Do Not Call Registry, and yet they called me twice using an automated dialer. After the first call, I submitted a request to not be called using their online form, and I emailed them the same request. This did not stop them from calling me again (a week later), so I sent 25 emails to their customer support email address last night, and finally they have removed my number from their call list.

I called them to be sure my number was removed and to ask why the first request was ignored. They confirmed the number was removed but did not have an answer as to why I received a second call (a week after the first).

This complaint is pretty unusual... I used www.acerenting.com to place an ad and they were great! Anything I needed from information to customer service I received swiftly and without hassle.  It’s possible that they had some kind of technical error removing your telephone number.  You shouldn’t post ludicrous comments unless you have the absolute facts, this can be considered slanderous.

You, sir, are a worthless tool. In fact, you're probably the same clown who's been flooding my machine with unwanted messages. What part of "Do Not Call List" don't you understand?

You sound more like someone with www.acerenting.com than a landlord.

It is illegal to place autodialed calls to a cell phone, whether they are on the Do Not Call list, or not.

If you place an advertisement in the newspaper and use your cell phone as the contact number, you have basically just invited anyone and everyone looking through the newspaper permission to contact you.  People need to take more care about what telephone number they use for call backs while advertising in the newspaper... I know I do

What? Are you a frigging employee or something? Tell me...if I say you are a sycophant suck-up for this company, is that slanderous too? How about if I call you a dick with ears?

In the future, keep your snot-nosed, snide legalese comments to yourself! If I want legal advice, I'll hire an attorney. If I need the skid marks removed from my boxers by a butt-licker...I'll call you!

    Sean,

When you are using public forums, you should have respect for your neighbors and not used trashy and disrespectful words.  Some websites have a policy against that and would block your filthy language. Most of us are trying to get the facts about a certain subject, in order to be better informed, so we make better decision.  I know that I learn something from the "newspaper advertiser".  He was informative and reasonable. But there was no profit from your angry renting. There has to be a better and more civil way to express your disagreements,  without blowing your blood vessels in the process and hopefully, we can all learn something.   This is the first time I am reading this message and this forum.  I am a landlord, seeking information about Ace Renting, because they called us.  Yours did not help me. The "landlord" comments, if true, would be helpful.  But I am going to do further checks.    Peace and God bless! '

I too had a bad experience with Ace Renting.  They called after I placed an add for a rental in the local newspaper.  They offered me what seemed to be a good deal (that's what should have been a tip off).  I paid 30 bucks for a 2 week add, they gave me numbers to call and a web site to visit to post photos but I have not had any luck contacting anyone or getting the website to load.  I think this company is a scam.  I am going to get my credit card company to investigate.  Also for the  above comment about the slanderous comments about Ace Renting.  I believe it is only slanderous if it is untrue.  This comment is true.

ACE Renting also contacted me.  I thought as you did this seems to be a good deal and unfortunately I did not check it out.  I was charged $55 to post an ad for two weeks with Margo stating I would get calls so I went for it.  I never received one call.  When I complained 2 weeks later, they told me I did not post it long enough and I would need to place it for another 2 weeks for additional amount.  I said no and threathened to pursue thru BBB.  I have asked them 3 times where they are located and if they are with the BBB.  They are not responding and keep avoiding the subject.  I too think this is a scam.  If you use them, be careful as I don't think you will get the calls they say you will get.

Thanks for the info.  I too just received a call from Margo with a guarantee that she could get us a good renter.  She was offering me a $60 rate for 2 weeks.   I think I'm going to opt out and I hope they don't continue to call me back.

I got the same call after posting in the newspaper and craigslist
I went with their special promo of $99 for "until it was rented" exposure.
I did get an email routed through them, which remains a current lead for a future lease.
I had no probs with their website, was able to edit to my liking and add photos easily.
Some of their search features don't work properly based on some web programming weaknesses.

    got scammed
I posted an ad on free press to list rental house. They got my number from the ad and offered for only $90 for ad to be listed on craig's list, kijiji, their web site and 2 others. And bump up ad every 3 hours. And continue to do this until rental was rented out.  Unfortunately I have not seen the ad on kijiji or craigs list and having trouble with credit card company to reverse charges. :( got scammed. you live and you learn.

I posted the sale of a vehicle on kijiji and have been contacted by Ace [***] ever since.  He leaves messages once to twice a week on both cell and home phone.  I never contacted this Ace company at all.  Instead he is taking up valuable space on my answering devices.  I am confident that he will at some point recieve fines for this type of soliciting. I too am on the do not call list. So keep the complaints flowing not only here but any other site similar to this as well.
