Over a year ago, I applied for a payday loan... two months after getting it and paying it off, my checking account was hit with a $199.99 charge for a service I did not order.... after going thru the angst of filing reports with bank, police, etc.... I never did get my money back and police gave me little hope of this ever being tracked down.
this year, I applied for another payday loan (fool that I am) and sure enough, within a month, I was hit with a fraudulent bank transfer of $149.99.... After a lot of tracking on my own, I found the companies name is MEDCARERX (http://medcarediscountrx,com). They are evidently getting our information from these payday loan applications..... Tho they promised me an immediate refund, I have yet to see any money.... PLEASE, DO NOT FILL OUT A MULTIPLE LOAN APPLICATION FOR ANY SERVICE THAT PROMISES TO SEND YOUR APPLICATION TO MANY LENDERS.... Your information is out there on multiple sites for anyone to grab money from your account when you get paid electronically.....it will usually happen within 10 days of a payday... I don't know why the federal trade commission has not shut down these sites, but you can bet I am going to find out.... in the meantime, I have closed my account. I have been in contact on the phone & internet and there are literally thousands of us out there who have been hit!
Don't allow yourself to be a victim like all of us. We are the ones who can least afford it.....
iF YOU HAVE BEEN A VICTIM, PLEASE CONTACT THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION AT 1-877-382-4357....THEY ARE BUILDING A FILE TO SHUT THESE PEOPLE DOWN.... That's one more down.

Interesting connection with "payday loan" sites as a source of consumer account information, using alleged "insurance" or "health cards", or various other alleged "services" with no real value as cover to launder the connection between the fraudulent charges and the manner originally used to obtain account information.

A number of sources of fraudulent charges appear to be linked to such "payday loan" sites.

Immediately dispute all fraudulent charges thru your bank, and close the account to prevent future fraudulent charges.  Follow up your dispute IN WRITING, including filing a police complaint for the theft and sending a copy with a fraud affidavit.

Your bank SHOULD reverse fraudulent ACH charges when they are notified by you within 60 days of the statement date showing the charge.  They are SUPPOSED TO push the charge back thru the system, back to the bank and payment processor of the merchant making the charge.  The merchant would then have that money removed from his account and get stuck with a fee.  If the merchant goes bust, it should be his bank or payment processor who gets stuck in his place.

If they refuse to reverse the charge for fraud, you can actually sue your bank in place of the "merchant".  Your bank should NOT be accepting the unsubstantiated word of some "merchant" they don't even know over their own customer's claim of fraud, any more than they should accept the word of the holder of a clearly fraudulent forged check over your word that it is forged.

ACH transfers are similar to processing payments against checks, only electronically, and still based on the legal theory that YOU are the party directing the bank to make the payment.  Just as checks can be bogus, and the holder is SOL, ACH claims can be just as bogus.

If your bank is not properly handling fraud disputes under Reg. E or FCBA, you should file a complaint with OCC and FTC against your bank.  Regardless, you should file a complaint against MedcareRX with FTC, your state AG, and the state AGs in both Minnesota and New York.  Part of this operation appears to be tied to Minnesota, and with ties to a mail drop in NY that might indicate a cross-border connection.

Do you have the names of the "payday loan companies", or their websites, which you believe passed account information to "MedcareRX"?
