5 yr old washer - done.

In 2012, we bought a washer dryer set from Lowes. We bought the 4 yr. extended warranty.  As expected, once the warranty ran out, the problems began. (i.e. won't spin, lights flash, won't reset)  Ran "diagnostic codes" to display problems. Lid lock error and basket speed error (F7E1).  Replaced the actuator ($70.00) - still have issue. Replaced the lid lock assembly ($45.00) - lid lock error resolved. Left with F7E1. Next possible replacement is the control board, which is on average a $350.00 part. Technically, this is a P.O.S. or a washer's version of a lemon. When the repair costs the same price as a new washer - it's a lemon. And we elected to buy a MAYTAG because we figured our old set lasted nearly 30 years, the new one would be just as good.  Disappointed.
