PERSONAL TRAINING

After my friend and I became members of LA Fitness, we were told that we were entitled to a free personal training session. After our free session, the trainer brought us over to his sales desk and tried to sell us 12 months of personal training sessions. My friend and I said NO. We were very clear. We absolutely did not want 12 months. We said that we would only be interested in personal training sessions under TWO CONDITIONS: 1. that my friend & I could SHARE the sessions. 2. We could do it for ONLY TWO MONTHS. The personal trainer told us that we could indeed share the sessions, but he would need to call the District Vice President in order to get special authorization to do a two month plan for us. I spoke to the District V.P. in English and my friend spoke to him in Spanish. Although the V.P. was not eager to accommodate our special request, he did ultimately agree to "letting us out" after two months. Was then told to sign here and here and here. Figured that this was mostly for the sake of charging my credit card. Well, it turned out to be a 12 month contract. I did not worry too much at the beginning because they had assured us that they had made a "special exception" for us. We were also promised "extra sessions" in order to convince us to sign up. We have yet to use all of our promised sessions, and my credit card has been charged for 4 months now! My friend and I reminded the trainer who originally signed us up that we had only wanted two months. He now tells us about this so-called "BUYOUT" - the first we have ever heard of this!! We have told two managers about our dilemma. One was unprofessional, abruptly left, and completely avoided us afterward. The other manager seemed much more professional at first, but now I sense that she is giving us the runaround. I have called the District V.P. three times, but he has not returned my calls. I FEEL EXTREMELY BETRAYED & DECEIVED!!
