Bluegreen lied to us in order sell points at Resort

In July of 2008, we took our grandkids to Laurel Crest, a Bluegreen Resort.  We had 15,000 points for every 2 years.  On July 8th, 2008, we met with Ken and Jeannie, two Bluegreen representatives selling additional points.  Both Jeannie and Ken promised us that if we bought into 12,000 points for every year, the first year we would also carry over our 15,000 as they were getting ready to renew August 1st.  They lied to us.  We did not get the 15,000 points.  We paid $10k for the 12k annual points.  In a phone call to Ken in September, he even acknowledged that he probably did tell us that but he was "sorry" it just didn't work out that way.

In addition to this, you cannot get your vacation when you want it with Bluegreen.  It is a day of frustration to try to book any beach resort even if you try to go the 11 months out.  I don't understand why Bluegreen is not under investigation for fraud.  They are no better than the Pyramid scams that swindle people out of their money.  For the $700. a year in maintenance fees you have to pay, you could almost go on a vacation to a resort and not have paid the up front $10k.  This seems criminal to me.  Let the Buyer Beware....

I was told when we upgraded to Silver they would buy back our points if we no longer wanted them. Now they tell me that they don't do that and if I want to sell, I have to find my own buyer. I'm all for suing them!

They never made it clear that the points were every other year. Neither did they tell us that our maintance would go up so high.

I wish I would have read these posts before attending a Blue Green sales schpeel.  I feel so ripped off.  My husband and I had a great time share experience with an Interval Resort in Puerto Vallarta.  We exchanged our weeks easily and when our daughter moved to Maui, we were able to trade for weeks in Kihei while we visited her.  When the Mexican lease expired last year, we were in the market for another timeshare and 'got sold' into the points at BlueGreen.  After explaining our desire to use the points for visiting our daughter in Maui, we were assured no problem.  We bought 8000 points for $11,000.00 , are paying almost $800 per year in dues and when I was ready to book our trip to Maui - it was going to be 26,000 points for the week.  I was horrified and felt so betrayed.  I can't seem to 'get over it' and am not sure what I can do.

Everyone is more conscious about the value of money these days. Folks get angry when pressured into purchasing a timeshare they can’t afford. They don’t like feeling duped by flimflam artists, and resent unkept promises after buying into a retirement community or assisted-living facility. Shame on Bluegreen resorts and their misleading sales practices. I recommend you to read these articles about timeshare scams, hope this helps:

I would be more than willing to participate in a law suit!! I have been lied to by Bluegreen also. Customer service will even tell you that you can't believe everything said on the sales floor. ??? I have been a sucker since 1999. I did eventually pay off my purchase. However, maintenance fees killed me every year at Christmas time. I recently took a tour in Myrtle Beach at Harbor Lights. I remember thinking to myself, I know all their tricks and I'm strong enough to walk away. The $100.00 will be a nice little gift card. BUT!!! I get in there and this guy name Daniel jumps right into the Maintenence Fees Paid with Points scheme. I reinterated over and over with him again and again the same thing. So your telling me that I will never pay maintenence fees again if I upgarde to silver? I did the math right there in front of him and checked it twice. I would be saving $300.00 a year. And once BG was paid off (again) my MF would cost nothing. What a joke!!!! I bet these people laugh every time they walk out the room. And what in the world is the training process for these sales people? They are all liars. They have to know it to be so good at it. Also, I was lied to about the credit application they filled out. This guy named Daniel insisted I apply because it was 0% interest for 6 month. In 2 minutes and said ok your approved 0% interest and $9000.00 credit limit. This was far beyond what I needed but I noticed when I signed the itty bitty carbon copy he had written in $1586.00 instead of the $500.00 required deposit we had already discussed. I questioned that. He said, "Ms. Wilson your approved for the entire amout you need. We just can't access but $1600.00 today." I reluctantly let it go thinking, I am transferring the rest in a matter of days. When I returned home I decided to cancel the entire contract. Due to the misrepresentation of benefits for the Silver level. Specifically Maintenence Fees payable with points. A flat out lie! After overnighting the cancellation letter the next day I contatced the credit card company to file a dispute for the $1586.00 charge. And GET THIS!!!! Come to find out, that was a lie too! The interest rate was 16.99 and the approved amount on the card was... wanna guess? $1600.00 !!! That is about the slickest bull**** I have ever seen! In other words I could have never paid the amount off with my 0% credit card. And they maxed it out and gave themselves all my money. I feel like I was lied to and stolen from. Since I was a previous owner, I do have other stories. I used to think I was crazy. Truth is... I am smarter than they are. You cannot run a business like that. One thing Bluegreen does is they constantly change their guidelines, rules, owner benefits etc... They seriously need to be stopped. So sick of it all. For a moment... I would give away what I own just to rid myself of future aggravation and to never ever give them another dime!!!!!   My email is dulseyw@yahoo.com

I used to be a sales rep in the industry. After being ripped off, I started helping people terminate timeshare. The truth is there's no easy exit but with the right contacts it's possible. Emal godsman73@gmail.com

How To Get OUT of “Bluegreen” or ANY “Time Sharing” Contract
(Four Steps to be FREE of Bluegreen)

So many hundreds of people have commented on this blog that they wish to get out and quit Bluegreen.  They also have commented that they are angry that they got scammed and wish that everyone complaining about Bluegreen can combine forces TOGETHER to quit Bluegreen and get out.  Here is the way to STICK-IT to Corrupt Bluegreen and bankrupt them in FOUR STEPS!

    1) Find at least 30 PEOPLE who feel the same disgust for “Bluegreen” as you do and who wants OUT!  This should not be that difficult.  Just look at this website (https://complaintwire.org/search/?q=Bluegreen or http://www.consumeraffairs.com/travel/bluegreen.html) and also Google other websites to find them.  Then post your email and contact information on this and other blogs.  Just cut and paste all of this instruction into your post.  Post these steps EVERYWHERE on the Internet (freeing people from the pain of Bluegreen).

    2) Find ONE person who has “BAD CREDIT” anyway.  Make sure you tell them the TRUTH on how “Bluegreen” Scam you and others (tell that person everything).  Make sure that person has nothing to lose (as a home or car or property).  Make sure he would not mind legally declaring bankrupt to legally FREE all his financial debt.  In exchange he would MAKE $30,000 free money for doing nothing.  This person can be YOUR NEPHEW or NIECE or NEIGHBOR or YOUNGER BROTHER or COUSIN or some RELATIVE or even a COWORKER or a FRIEND or a HOMELESS GUY who has a valid SSN.  As long as the person is legally 21 years old or over and don’t mind declaring bankrupt.

    3) The 30 PEOPLE you found who feels the same disgust for “Bluegreen” as you do will ALL sell their “Bluegreen Contract” over to this ONE SAME PERSON in #2 above.  Sell it to him for “One Cent”.  That means that the “One Same Person” in #2 above will spend a total of “Thirty Cents” to legally buy 30 PEOPLE “Bluegreen Contracts”, thus LEGALLY FREEING ALL 30 PEOPLE from the financial burden of “Bluegreen”.  You are now LEGALLY totally FREE and OUT of “Bluegreen”.  There are currently a number of people already selling “Bluegreen Contracts” on ebay.com (check and see).  However, nobody is buying them because there is no incentive to buy the junk contracts!

    4) Your question now is why on earth would the “One Person” in #2 above (perhaps a nephew) buy a worthless “Bluegreen Contract” and take on the financial BURDEN of 30 STRANGERS?  The answer is for two reasons:
Reason 1:  He will never pay “Bluegreen” a dime but will legally declare bankrupt anyway which will legally release all the financial burden from him and back to “Bluegreen”.
Reason 2:  Each of the “30 People” above will have to pay this “One Person” some kind of incentive for RESCUING and FREEING them out of “Bluegreen”.  I say each of the 30 Strangers should pay him $1,000 each (the price of Bluegreen’s yearly maintenance fee).  That adds up to $30,000 free cash for this “One Person” who has bad credit anyway.

    The Result – A Win-Win-Win Situation:
    A) You are now FREE of “Bluegreen”
    B) The person who freed you is $30,000 richer ($1,000 from each of the 30 Strangers)
    C) After that “One Person” declares bankrupt, all the Bluegreen Contracts and properties will legally go back to Bluegreen.  If 30 different strangers keeps on repeating this same cycle over-and-over again many times, hundreds of properties will be returned to Bluegreen after bankrupt.  Bluegreen will have to pay for the property taxes (maintenance fee) on ALL those properties by themselves, thus sooner or later bankrupting Bluegreen (a corrupt company gone).

    Notes:
    A) Make sure when this “One Person” (perhaps a Nephew that’s 21 years old or older) declares bankrupt, make sure that the $30,000 is not in his name.  Make sure he puts it in Mommy & Daddy’s name or anyone else so that the government won’t take it away in the bankruptcy procedures.

    B) If the “30 Strangers” legally sell their property to this “One Person” using ebay.com or some other way, make sure you don’t get SCAM again and that “One Person” don’t take off with your $1,000 without signing the contract and buying your “Bluegreen Contract”.  Look at ebay.com and make sure your contract states that this “One Person” is buying your “Bluegreen Contract Time Share” for “One Cent” (don’t get rip off).  Make sure this “One Person” pays you the “One Cent” to make the contract binding legally.  Feel free to improve, revise or work out any bugs in this system.

Have fun STICKING IT TO BLUEGREEN (a corrupt company)! – Sincerely SRDEDC
