You can't handle the truth
Country: United States
They call, knowing my name and address, and said we spoke over a year ago. (At which time I asked to be removed from their call list). I asked him if there was any way to really get off the list, he replied "No".   Also, the national "Do Not Call" list is a joke.

Take me off your calling list. I must get 5 calls a week and I'am sick of it. So put me on your do not call list!

There is no professionalism and/or good-working invironment within their call-center room.  It is very loud and distrative---shouting---cursing---cajolling behavior throughout the work-hours. Totally poor housekeeping (unclean breakroom/refrigerator, etc.)....unsanitary.  It's a rough-house type of a call-center.  Yes, the sales-pitch is hammered over and over in their daily morning meeting...to the point of actually STATING A BIG LIE..."I SPOKE TO YOU A YEAR AGO...is the first statement of the pitch...it is rediculous!  Also, [told by the team-leaders] a home-owner asking to DO NOT CALL (Remove from call-list)...meant to do-nothing/hang-up and the number will be recalled.  It a vicious cycle. There was the smell of alcohol on the breaths of some of the reps...odors of cigarette smokers...even the smell of marijuana.  As I worked there for 3 days...it was just so emotionally (spiritually) and morally disturbing...so much so that I could not work any longer in the dogma of that environment. [When I complained to the manager/ower, I was told that I could leave for the day...could no longer work there].  The one thing that was ok...was the pay-rate/commission.  That is, if you can work within those unprofessional, poor-managed conditions.  The experience was one of lack-of-respect and poor-supervision; and non-professional.  Was not worth sacrificing my integrity (self-respect for the people being called) as well as my professionalism and morals. I am grateful to God that I will NOT.
