I received a call from the name of Jennifer McConnor from 855-711-5891 and she states i took out a loan from 2009 from SGQ, she has my last social # and i was told to call back by friday to settle $857 or they will send me to court and for me to attend a 90 day bad check restitution. is this for real? i am scared because she has my social my old home address.
should i contact my county's restitution office if this is for real? please help.

1) Sound real "official". (They'll go to court, and you'll supposedly have to attend some "back check restitution program".
2) Make lots of threats, (Alleged "lawsuit", or is it "prosecution for check fraud"?)
3) Little to no information on what this is even about. (You're supposed to imagine that, maybe think it's some old "payday loan" you forgot. That's why it's supposedly back in "2009", to make "forgetting" believable.)
4) Hard press to "settle" faster than you could look into it to see if it's real. They don't want you to have time to think, time to call your police, AG, or DA. No time to check with friends or family, anyone who might recognize this as a con.
